I suspect Apples stays in Winnipeg and signs a similar contract to Nino. If he keeps up the play.

Louie De Brusk called them the best checking line in the league game 1 against the Oilers. It's not like they aren't carrying over success from last year. Maybe some weaker opponents early in the season, but this line is for real. They don't give up too many easy goals, and they genuinely look pissed when they get scored on. Their secondary scoring has been a nice surprise. Maybe good enough to get Lurch a nomination for the Selke, which is overdue.

Nino and Apples are playing much better than last year and Cappy gives 100% on each and every shift, they have jelled even more this year to the Jets benefit and are a huge part of the 8-0 start.

Not to mention that Lowry has performed very well as captain. Must be one of, if not the lowest paid captains in the league.
