Best one yet, we are spoiled.

Yea. Those videos are amazing.

I like how the coaches have their initials in the middle of the shirts.

I laughed when Mancosu shot the ball over the net in the drill where Petrasso crosses the ball.

I also laughed at the spot where the acrobat is in the background with her ass to the cam and Petrasso looking.

I think football culture in general is more transparent and straight forward, that's one of the things I love the most. Garde comes out last week and says he still needs a cb, another box to box and a fwd, which is also in tune with the fan base on top of that.

It's much easier for fans, in the age of information, to know how your team sees it, rather than have this secret plan and have it fall apart without concrete things to answer to.

I'm not sure about that one, in NA players have to answer to the journalists almost every day, while journalists in Europe rarely or get less access to the players. Remember the Drama around Drogba not wanting to speak to the reporters?

I agree with you, but there's still a lot of shady stuff going on all over the world in regards to federations, leagues and teams. A lot of nepotism, corruption, etc... Like, NDS is still here..

It's especially journalists in the locker room which is unique to Canada/US.

To be fair, us québécois are usually quite sensible when it comes to the proper pronounciation. See Pierre Houde or Fred Lord. Especially compared to our north american neighbours. It's probably because we cringe every time our names are butchered. I went to school with a lad who was named Nguyen and he never once complained how we said his last name.

Maybe. But in my case, I have an anglophone name... but I grew up in a small francophone community and went to french school, and usually I'd get my name butchered, even though it's pretty common (Shawn). I never made a big fuss about it but maybe it did make me more sensitive about pronouncing peoples names.

edit: and when i'm in Latin America, people often dont have a clue how to say my name.

Yeah, but NA sports journalism is a joke, always the same questions and answers day after day, it's an illusion of insight, but all it does is create distance between the team and fans at this point in time. Conventional media is so outdated compared to social media, that's why BS rumor sites and accounts are so popular.

Even the "experts" on TV say the same cliché garbage all the time, mainly in hockey. In football, criticism is openly discussed and disputed. Ex-players are not afraid to offer insight on ex-teammates live on air, players say how they really feel about the team's performance or about the other team, coaches are not afraid to talk about other players outside their team ect.

Of course, no culture is perfect, but what I love about it is how candid opinions can be.

No Vargas once again, I guess he didn't impress the coaching staff in training (fitness issues). Goes back to what I said weeks ago, gotta play him strategically, this is totally new to him, be patient or else he'll end up like Ontivero.

Glad to see Shome with another start, I have high hopes for him this year.

Is it really a fitness issue or is it just a case of better safe than sorry?

I choose to stay positive with the kid and the team in general (given how down I am with our other MTL team)

Both, he got injured because he wasn't fit enough to train hard.

I asked Nicolas Martineau is Vargas is injured. This is what he told me:
