Doesn't want to be on the team trade his ass. Ungrateful and not a team player. Lot's of players who would die here.
Robertson looks like he's come ready. Anderson will push for a job too, as will Brooks. We are more than okay without Mikheyev and I agree with you that he should be on the next plane out of here. Give it to a hungry kid. Brooks and Anderson can both PK, and I'm sure Robertson would relish the chance to learn the PK if that was what was asked of him..he's just a firecracker out thereDoesn't want to be on the team trade his ass. Robertson PK'd in the AHL and did well. I could see him developing into a Moore type on the PK, with obvious better skill.Robertson looks like he's come ready. I really think Mik doesn't have much to do with most of this, this sounds mostly like an agent wanting his client to get paid so he can get his commish. Also if Dubas did shoot it down back then, he must have known Hyman was gone and with the uncertainty of free agency he would rather have the devil you know.I remember Mirtle describing his contract extension negotiations as a bit 'awkward' (on one of the old Leafs Report podcasts) and seemed to insinuate that Soups agent was expecting a longer deal.
Perhaps Management's caution here will end up the prudent move
He penalty killed in the ohl too. Scored a bunch of shorties to boot but i forget how many it was. It was a bunchRobertson PK'd in the AHL and did well. I could see him developing into a Moore type on the PK, with obvious better skill.
Oh alright. If he accepts his role he wouldn’t be asking out. It’s a nice chunk of change to bank for the trade deadline if Dubas got a pick or prospect for him. The inner workings I wasn’t aware of obviously. I want him gone tooI don't like him as a player much either .. useless when it counts in playoffs .. my point was he is one of many guys who want to come here and play only on top 2 lines so they can get their $$$ and contract .. da rumour with guys was when he came to team from Russia was Babs told him he would play 1 season on 3rd line to prove himself and then he would get opportunity to play with Matty .. things changed after Babs was let go and that is life in da fast lane of pro hockey .. sh*t happens .. it is really no surprise to many of us that he wants out .. bottom line is he is not happy here anymore and needs to be moved for good of team so he can get what he came to NHL to begin with -- da $$$ .. but even though I don't like him as a player I can totally get where he is coming from .. he was not given da chance he was promised
0 points in 12 playoff games (if you count the qualifier)
3-4 of those games he had JT and Marner as linemates
The second someone indicates they don't want to be in your organization, you move on.
Chicago had Frolik, who had the draft pedigree and Kruger who was a stud offensively in Sweden and they were fantastic food soldiers. They knew their role, never complained and the team had success. Seemingly every player who comes to Toronto thinks they're a star.
I only need one metric……..he does not want to be a Leaf so he should be traded immediately.66% DZone starts, but one of the top two forwards in goals against.
Top Forward in GA on the PK.
Strong possession metrics, despite starting 66% in the Dzone.
Severed a tendon in his wrist, when it was cut by a skate near the end of last year... it certainly affected his shooting ability. Maybe temporary until more rehab, maybe permanently... who knows.
If he can rehab that wrist, from that injury, and get back to his scoring rate from the first season, he's a very valuable player for us, on both sides of the puck.
Some of these hot takes are embarrassing, but typical of a myopic and toxic Leafs Nation.

That’s all assuming that he demonstrates a good work ethic and doesn’t develop a bad attitude going forward. Usually when a player asks for a trade it becomes a problem. That's nice. We are under no obligation to trade him. Our team is better with him, than without, no matter what he wants. Our GM's job, whom you hate, is to ice the best team possible. We are better with Mikheyev in the lineup, than the 3rd or 4th round pick we'd get back. He's been a solid player, and no grandstanding changes that. Thankfully, we have an even keeled GM, and not some emotional knee jerk reaction as demonstrated by your postings. If Mikheyev wants more ice time here, or elsewhere, demonstrate you are worth it. If he wants to be moved, and an acceptable replacement return, prove you are worth that return. If not, sit down, shut up and play, or go back to the KHL, and end your NHL career.... (and the money that goes with it). He isn't in a position to make demands, and our GM is icing the best team that he can.
Of course, some people are treating unsubstantiated press rumours as fact too....
Scotty Mac says Mik wants to play in the top 6, maybe he was promised such a roll and it is why he chose Toronto. If he wants out, you gotta move him.
Dubas feels he is entitled to his job. Too much talent around that is hungry for whiners and players who aren't 100% dedicated.
Agreed.Kid is looking to set himself up for a bigger payday (like most players) which I doubt we can afford with Rielly and Soup looking for new deals. IMO Dubas should be aggressively looking to move him. He is meh but losing another asset for nothing doesn't seem to be the wise thing to do.
