What kind of brainwashing do we need to start paying for to make these people think NJ is better than their own home?

Can we pay someone for that?

...will $50 do the trick?

Boucher isn't ready yet. And he may never be, don't assume just because he had a great juniors career that he'll make a good pro. He needs at least a year in the A.

yeah I know Ive never even seen the guy play other than on youtube... but he can release a shot pretty damn good and quick

this team now does have to go out and sign another forward. there is literally no pop in this lineup ....maybe ryder.. but this hurts our explosiveness and all takes one of our faster forwards off the ice on what is already a painfully slow set of forwards..

Honestly I sincerely believe the NHL rigs the draft for the devils if Kovy had the decency to announce his retirement before the draft lottery.

Or maybe I'm just crazy.

IDK what to think, but many Russian fans rumour that Kovy has serious spinal problems, and he could be playing less demanding game for couple more years at best.
He's in for a gross frontloaded money, and whole thing is arranged to help KHL image at any price. Kovy makes his money and gets to play as he sees it fit. Lou get's off the hook for cap hits that would hit Devils were he to retire in few years.
Everybody wins. Except Devils fans ...

I hope he gets chocked by a Russian polar bear. This is absolutely tragic and I feel like crying
This team will rebound and become a champion despite this ********. In Lou I trust.

At least Tedenby is not going to be sandbagged on the bottom lines. Ted here's your chance. This upcoming season will amount to a tryout for the entire org.

Keep hoping buddy. My prediction is we lose him to waivers not long after the season begins. I'd take Whitney over that useless toothless at this point.

There wasn't really much in free agency to replace him anyway. We would have signed a regrettable contract, Mogilny and Malakhov style. But the timing is still awful.

I don't know what Lou is thinking. He seems to be too determined to be the "good guy" recently and it keeps screwing us. Allowing Sutter to leave, letting the Wild get away with tampering with Parise, etc. The old Lou would never have let him go like this.

he got us to the SCF last year - he'll find a way

So, I'm going to have to tell my 8 yr old kid, who I dragged to an autograph signing wearing his Kovy shirt to meet the guy - and who asks every 5 seconds while watching a game 'Is Kovy on the ice? Did he score?' that his idol just up and split.

I really can't believe it. I might not be able to watch any Devils games next year nor go to any games again simply on the basis that I don't think I can face my own kid and look him in the eye and try to explain this.

He might get the homesick part, but geez.

I'm really sorry man. Hopefully the Devils make a splash and your kid can have an idol worth a damn. He's better off long term without having to look up to this jackass anymore.

This thread is weird!!! 2 posts of mine vanished and they were in NO way bad!!!

Is it against thread rules to speculate that the owner OKed this to save the $$$???

Only way it makes sense for them to void the contract!!!

When posters repeatedly point out that couldn't be farther from the truth (not to mention that we've spent more money in FA this past week than Kovalchuk is due to earn in the next few years), yea I could see how the mods get annoyed.

Hilarious. Absolutely hilarious.

Join the pity train!

Our front six is now officially one of the slowest in the league, even with a hurt Kovalchuk leaving.
