Russia and money. That seems to be about it. No other reason, **** us, that is that.

Money? Wasn't it the big money year coming up? Why the hell would he pass that up? He's not going to make more money in Russia.

I have to think his back is ****ed up and he doesn't think he can compete at the top level, because otherwise this just doesn't make any sense.

Kovy has always been a guy with a great sense of NHL history. And he always talked about how he wanted to make his place in it. But now he just leaves. I don't get it.

I say zero chance Kovy retires without getting word from Lou that they won't tol the contract. I am blaming Bettman because the KHL probably offered him ridiculous amount of money after they saw the potential of Kovy in the KHL.

Taxes and paying in escrow apparently. When you take out U.S. taxes he will most likely make more with SKA.

Boucher isn't ready yet. And he may never be, don't assume just because he had a great juniors career that he'll make a good pro. He needs at least a year in the A.

He will make more money in Russia and pay less taxes. If Radulov can get $9m per year, traitor will get 15.

Oh yes... yes he is.
They're going to empty out the vault for him.

Radulov is making north of $7, Kovy is going to be paid a handful more than that. At least.

I'm just worried about Schneider right now. If we suck this year then that's one thing, but if we suck both years, that's another thing.

I wanna do what we can to keep Schneider. We're gonna need to make the playoffs, and stay competitive to do it.

If Schneider wants to START in the NHL, he'll have that chance with NJ. If he wants to go elsewhere, he might or might not get that chance.

At least with NJ it's pretty much a sure thing....

I guess you have the right to be worried but I'm going to remain OPTIMISTIC because that's all we can do now.... :(

So, I'm going to have to tell my 8 yr old kid, who I dragged to an autograph signing wearing his Kovy shirt to meet the guy - and who asks every 5 seconds while watching a game 'Is Kovy on the ice? Did he score?' that his idol just up and split.

I really can't believe it. I might not be able to watch any Devils games next year nor go to any games again simply on the basis that I don't think I can face my own kid and look him in the eye and try to explain this.

He might get the homesick part, but geez.

yeah shelter him that's the best idea so he doesn't learn how to deal with any adversity...
