Thanks for the video. I agree that he shouldn't have poked at his glove like that but that doesn't make it suspension worthy. Sit him for two mins.
Guy only gets two games the other day for almost kicking someone in the neck with his skate and Skinner gets a game for this. What a joke but that's international hockey for ya.

He may have been going for the glove, but seems to me he definitely got the goalie right in the stomach.
All I can think of is (other than holy overreaction, ref, give him 2 for a slash or something) that there'd already been warnings given out for that?

I know that's not what you were saying, was just joking.
Personally I'd like to keep Lack as he's younger and even if it was only for a month he showed a higher level of play than anything Ward has done recently. We all know the team will never trade or buyout Ward, though. I'm all for loyalty but it will only get you so far.

I agree I'd rather keep lack as well. Maybe if we roll with 3 goalies (which i doubt will happen) i could see ward being moved at the deadline for like anything. It won't be long he has to be away from his family and what not. Yeah, this organization needs to cut the cord of 06 and let ward go. Would be cool to see him in an executive or coaching role with the canes which I'm sure they will offer him.

Joking aside, none were for that game. The officiating crew were referees Antonin Jerabek (Czech) and Jozef Kubus (Slovak) and linesmen Ivan Dedioulia (Belarusian) and Roman Kaderli (Swiss).

Probably already widely known fact but none of the officials can be from either of the countries involved for obvious reasons.

Saw part of the Slovenia game today and boy can those guys move the puck around. They can't finish worth ****, or play anything resembling defense, but they are fun to watch in the offensive zone.
