Hasek was a freak. He did not follow any rules, he'd face away from the shooter, roll over to make a save, drop his glove, drop his stick. He did everything wrong, but it was genius because he violated the rules of goaltending in a way that helped him even though it looked crazy. Hasek is probably the best goalie ever, he just didn't play on good teams the way Brodeur and Roy did.
Hasek put up crazy numbers considering he played in a high scoring era. In 1993-94, Richter was one of the top goalies in the game playing behind a team that went on to win the Presidents Trophy and the Stanley Cup. He put up 2.57 and .910. Glenn Healy was his backup, and universally regarded as one of the best backups in the game, and he had 3.03 and .878. Hasek had 1.95 and .930, and he was playing on a team that would've failed to make the playoffs without him. That's insane for that era.
