This contract will be why we don’t win a Stanley cup for a very long time. I know he didn’t play well today and got pulled but nothing at all makes me feel comfortable with this contract
When does his NTC kick in? They should trade him at the deadline. Not joking. You mean his number isn’t going up to the rafters next to Hank’s? Contract kicks in next seasons, ends when he is 37.
11.5 million dollars per year.
LGR??
If you're going to ask for and get big money, you can't hide from the media when you have a bad game.
Panarin does it too.
Igor has been the best goalie in the playoffs the last 3 years. He’s not the problem. Even tho he hasn’t been good, no one on the team has been good this year

I’ve said it before - it’s the yawning gulf between his very best and his very worst that shits me. When he is “on” he’s god-like.The thing that is tough to handle is the lack of consistency. He stands on his head some nights and cant save a beach ball other nights. So the question is chicken or the egg. Is Igor bad because we are bad or vice versa. Probably both at times. He has been very good for his career but this season has been more of a roller coaster. Is it the defense?
Well it’s not the playoffs so he doesn’t really have that to hang on right now.
You won’t get an argument from anyone here that he’s been the best playoff goalie over the last 3 years by a long shot. He is reverse Panarin in that regard.
But he isn’t exactly doing his part to get them in. He isn’t the main culprit but if you’re going to make 11.5 million, you sure as f*** better be able to steal more than 2 or 3 games along the way.
The leash is basically zero now with the contract extension and it should be.

They aren't winning with or without him until this structure or culture changes. There's so many issues with this team beyond talent. It's just so bad to watch. This contract will be why we don’t win a Stanley cup for a very long time. There's been 3 regular seasons since he won the Venzia. In all the last 2 seasons we've had the goalie controversy conversations. In the 1st season, he was either good or bad, and bumped his numbers up by going on a hot streak during the last 12 or so games of his season. Good playoff numbers, won't disagree there, and although he's not "the problem", Igor has definitely been part of the problem.Igor has been the best goalie in the playoffs the last 3 years. And it hasn't even started yet! Woo-hoo!One of the worst contracts in the league.
We're stuck with him so might as well hope he can pull it together. There is no way we're unloading that contract without an ugly retention.
I took a glance at the normal sites I visit and unfortunately those stats aren't tracked there. I didn't find a free site showing it, but I didn't spend that much time looking. You might have to settle for team goals/shots per period, and not directly goalies. But interesting to see that Igor has a .926 save % when getting a 1 day rest between games and it crashes after that. .847 after 3 days, and .886 after 4 days.Question for our stats gurus….
What is Shesty’s GAA and SVPCT by period this season?
