Could be his back. If you’ve ever pinched a nerve in your back, it’s awful. Pain radiating from the groin to the leg, no idea where it’s coming from.

the hip is the one that scares me. Not ideal at all for a goalie. Knees can be repaired easily. Hips not so much

I pulled my back a couple months ago. I was putting my laundry from the hamper into my bag, they were both on the ground and just leaning down, and I think I tweaked my sciatic nerve and my lower right side was completely messed up. it was the entire area from my right hip down to my glute and upper hamstring. it was the most excruciating pain I’ve ever felt. I couldn’t move. I had to lean on my bed just to find a position where I wasn’t dying when it first happened. I had to use a cane the next couple days just to move, and getting out of bed was a nightmare, not to mention trying to use the bathroom.

now I’m not an athlete and I’m sure these athletes have significantly higher thresholds of pain, but I’m praying it’s a lower back thing. you can see him leaning forward as he’s doing the splits so just maybe he tweaked his back and he’ll be fine in a week or two.

Tbh, it reminded me of Bishop's groin injury a few years back. Hopefully it won't be long term

Gonna choose optimism and say it's something minor and he'll be D2D. MFer didn't have enough electrolytes and just cramped up something fierce!

+ He recently liked a photo from an official instagram post about the win not happening without him. I'd like to think if his season was in jeopardy, he wouldn't be scrolling Instagram atm liking vids of himself.

And yes, this is just me trying to cope with what could be bad news...

With the way he looked leaving the ice, you really have to worry if the injury is career ending. Even if he's gone for the rest of the season, if he can be back to 100%, we've dodged a bullet. Praying for the best.

I had this happen to me a couple years ago. I had to use my upper body to crawl and drag my carcass off the floor and onto the couch. Couldn't walk or stand up for several days. Sleeping was hard trying to find a position that didn't cause excruciating pain.

Career ending?? A bit extreme..
If it's the hip, it can be seriously bad news. Perhaps it won't be career ending but he may not be the same player, which would be really bad since so much of what makes him so good has to do with how he moves with his lower body. Career altering may be the better word.

I wasn't crawling, but I could not walk without any support and I had to slump over using a cane when walking and had to grab onto the walls and furniture with my other hand. It was made worse when I was lying in bed the first night and trying to make myself comfortable and I felt it tweak further. I absolutely pinched a nerve to begin with, I felt it, then I pinched it a little more when lying in bed. It took a few days before I could walk without a cane, and it was about a week before I could walk normally, though twisting my back in some directions still hurt. It took about 3-4 weeks before I could move exactly freely without feeling any pain at all.

It was an innocent thing. Bending down I had my hamper on the right and my bag on the left, leaned to the right to grab some clothes, leaned to the left and it just pinched and that was all she wrote. I turned around and on my knees I just leaned against my bed for like 10 minutes unable to move at all.

Career ending?? That's way too extreme. If it's really a groin injury, he'll be out the rest of the season AT WORST.

I’m not gonna lie I actually put a lot of stock in this, idk why, maybe it’s what I’ve consumed tonight but if it were career ending or even really serious he would be in testing or something for mris etc.

That’s what I’m going with... I’m sticking too it... for now

Depends where he is. MRIs aren’t always performed at night as an injury like this isn’t an emergency. Is he in a hospital or did the team docs let him go home and schedule him for imaging tomorrow? Stuff like that plays a role in the timing of figuring out what’s going on here.

Though having spent time in the emergency department, it is definitely less concerning when a patient is scrolling on their phone than it is when they’re rolling around in pain. I would imagine if this is career/season ending, then he might now be scrolling through Instagram but who knows everyone deals with stuff differently.

Really hope it's not bad but it honestly looked awful. Would expect him to be out the majority of the season now, for sure. Would be shocked otherwise.
