Interesting take. I've watched a game or two of some guys at the top of the draft and have come away thinking they're really good players.

Where do you get your information on the draft? I've tried to find a few podcasts I like but have struck out.
I have seen Hagens in several games and videos of some others. They are good players but they weren't at the same level that Celebrini was last year. Hagens should be a top 5 C taken and Smith was clearly better last year, a lot IMO. Celebrini is having a real good rookie year and will hit 60 points but he gets max PP time and Sharks aren't contending for PO. If Boston got say Hagenss they would keep him at BC next year and sign him then as he clearly is two years away.

NHL is tough like for 19\20 year olds to e impact players. Look at Bedard and some of his troubles and Carlsson in Anaheim.

Boston is going to hope Lindholm plays better and Zach's has a better year but you can't count on a 19\20 year old a level below Celebrini or Bedard to be a 2C on a contender.

This loss really stings blowing a 3 goal game against a leaf team who was without Matthews mentally, that guy is still in mourning over his blown coverage on the winning goal at 4nations. loved that Pasta, Geek, Lohrei and Marchy keep rolling and getting their points, at this point isn't much else to root for.

I watched behind the B and Zadorov was chirping Brady Tkachuk steady saying things like you are trying to avoid me etc etc.Where the fk was he at tonite? Freddy was the guy getting nose in there and then took dirty shot to head and crickets.

Zaddy was our #1D last night so he had to stay out of the box. I give him credit for understanding that even though I'm sure he wanted to step up for TFred.

Don, I agree with you and Sheppy, never been the biggest Marner guy, and not wanting to give out a big contract, but let's be honest moves must be done.

You have one year left to trade him, and should be done, he has no trade protection for another year.
Provided we can find a taker and do not have to sweeten the pot with a top draft pick. 8.25 mil is a lot to add for a goalie that is not performing, so the lineup will be very short.

I just report some things I see. There are some things I would never post.

Did you see poor Sway? He got hit in the bad (for guys) spot. He came back to the bench and was telling Korpi and the guys on the bench.

I bet they all laughed too- I did

He hasn't been same since he got hurt & I wonder if it still bothers him. :dunno:
He may have been brought back to soon with his concussion,he just didn't look right when he returned. I believe you've said the same about Carlo in the past. Concussions aren't anything to fool around with and if you come back to early, you basically could be f--cked for life, if you get another one, before you've completely healed form the previous one.

He hits a ton but he also gets his ass smashed a ton as well when he gets hit. Thats when he wants to fight.

Sweeney signed him Waaaaaaaay to soon. There was zero need to lock this type of player up for three years.

Regardless of the cap going up.

There was plenty of Leafs he could have went after with the cheap shots being handed out.

He will be waiver fodder next season

I went and saw Captain America: Brave New World yesterday, so bear with me with the analogy.

These Bruins are the post Avengers: Endgame MCU. They wear the same uniforms and even have a couple of characters leftover from their glory days, but they’re a shell of their former selves as an organization right now.

Half of the time, you’re just grateful for 2 hours of entertainment and a “not too bad” effort.

Well Dreger just said he’s likely going to test the market.
Apologies for jumping in here as an outsider. I honest-to-God am not intending to troll (I was a mod here in another life and would absolutely light people up that go to rival team boards to troll.) I do live in Middlesex County if that helps?

Anyways, I just wanted to add some context here that others might not be aware of: Darren Dreger is VERY tight with Darren Ferris (Marner's agent) and Mitch's father as well. Every single item of Mitch-related communication for the past half-decade or more that comes from Dreger is leaked 100% straight from the Marner camp. If there is an opportunity for Money Mitch to earn a cent more than originally expected Dreger will publish it all day.

Regardless of who Marner signs with, I would not expect a discount of any kind whatsoever.

Here's the thing: No matter whether the players in front of Sway were doing their jobs, Stolarz outplayed him badly. He came up with huge save after huge save, including in OT. A goalie can't control what goes on in front of him but he should never settle for being outplayed by the guy at the other end. This has happened too many times this year. Swayman has not justified his contract this season.

I hope he has the integrity to work hard and sharpen his game during the offseason so he can redeem himself next year.
I get it. I don't like his holdout or his contract either, and he started the year poorly. His play lately hasn't been that bad. He can only play his best. The defense in front of him is appalling, and having McAvoy and Hampus out doesn't help, plus Carlo is having his worst year ever. Lohrei has a very high ceiling, but he has been dreadful. And yet, for all the grief he gets, Z has by far the best plus/minus on the team. He must be doing something right.

Trending in the wrong direction!

People are high on Poitras because there's so very little else anywhere on this roster under the age of 25 to get excited about. He stands out in an extremely shallow pool.

Reality is we still have no idea what he's going to become. He's only 20. Could be anywhere from solid 2C to a career in the minors or Europe. He's a good kid to have in the mix, I hope it pans out for him. But I don't see him as one to rave about. Might be a useful piece in a competitive team, but not a game-changer.
he would be a good chip in a package for an elite number one Center

I like Zadorov but I thought that was his worst game as a Bruin in his own zone. I felt like every other shift, I was saying to myself " what's he doing?? "
