If they thought he was going to be a 100 Point power forward, they would never have traded him.
Winning the cup has basically nothing to do with JT Miller, they would have just moved somebody else.

There was so much chatter and nonsense around the Miller v Horvat stuff and how Miller asked out etc that right now I am pretty numb to all of this stuff. Theres probably something there but I am not of the opinion a trade works as a solution. You definitely lose it, and no way you end with 2 top 6 centers after. You make it work.

if quinn hughes sat with the coaching staff and rutherford/alvin it will be the most difficult choice for him to pick. him and petey basically played together since they were rookies. miller didnt come to the team until june 2019, trade" september 2019. but hes a good player just wears his heart on his sleeve. hates to lose. they gotta sort it out . this team has a 2 year window before qh bolts IMO frankly and us fans will have to endure another rebuild.

Players don't stop being themselves after signing a fair deal. Miller is actually outperforming his deal. And now it seems everyone knows why they are slumping. They will attract bidding wars. One offer a rare all situations elite work rate, the other a similar package albeit a lower ceiling, but compliment that with a fire to win which GMs and coaches love. The return will be substantial, but it'll never be equivalent to the elite piece that Vancouver will trade away. Unless the two grow up and coexist, this will set their contention window back no matter how Allvin spins it.

He has gotten the top wingers and the primary Hughes ice time allocation since he has been here. I don't buy that he magically went from 50-60pt talent to a 100pt talent overnight when we traded for him. We just give him all the opportunity in the world, and then Pettersson gets the worse icetime and worse wingers and takes the heat from the fanbase. No wonder he doesn't like Miller.

It now seems apparent that this real or imagined rift between Miller and Pettersson is probably destined to continue for the rest of the year.

Remains to be seen whether or not the team can play through it. But if their slump continues into the New Year, then the controversy is hardly going to go away.

This is actually a blessing and gives us two get out of jail free cards.

Jt Millers contract wont age well and we now have every reason and excuse to trade him while at somewhat peak value.

Elias Pettersson will not be worth the headache and the salary he commands and we now have every reason to trade him at somewhat peak value.

This is a team that iced Linus Karlsson, Phil Di Guiseppe, Nils Hoglander, Noah Juulsen, Derek Forbort, Tyler Myers and Vinny Desharnais last game. There is soooo much room for roster improvements.

Id more than happily trade both for decent packages and the team would be stronger top to bottom for it.

The team isnt scoring with Pettersson and Miller and the defense is atrocious. At least we can likely fix the defense with these transactions.

Now thats an actual puck moving defense that can still defend and kill penalties.

Then all the focus goes on finding new centers of which they'res way more options on the market than defensemen.

Some things will never change. It's a very frog and scorpion thing we have in Vancouver. It's entirely on us as fans. We just can't help ourselves. We all decry it, it's downright detrimental to the team's results. We can't look away. We love the drama. Not only do we love the drama, we feed on it. We crave it.

How many clicks do you think Patrick J bananaphone guy got out of this? How much exposure? It's Jim Rome broadcasting and it's childish, and tell them to do it more by giving them exposure. The flames are fanned with every click, every response. It's us encouraging the media. And we shirk our own shitty toxicity by saying "THEY ARE PAID MILLIONS!!!!!!"

Take ownership of our actions and let's be better for the hockey team. The proudest I've ever been of the fanbase was just 7 months ago when we chanted "Let's Go Petey". And we are a deplorable bunch.
