Nah nah nah mayne. Having followed the sharks their whole existance I know it all. DW already said he wants Joe back and Joe promised to play for cheap. So they talking like he will play this last year after the injured wacky one like 3mil per the last year son. So joe already got his moneys. He just wants to be with friends and end it. In san jose. And have a chance at the cup. They do it all. And have that chance. And they even will sign the Joe tavares on that thang too. They getting everything and everybody. Joe T and John T. Every JT there is. Bank on it mayne. I know this and they written it down already. If we don't get tavares, they will. Doug Wilson does it like that. Big Joe will play his final season after the injury one for 3 million dollars. They don't want money. He already there. And stay there, he don't want no toronto money. He staying san jose. They written it down man.I wouldn't totally bank on this, even though its the most likely scenario.
If the Sharks landed Tavares say, and really got up against the cap, I'm not sure Thornton wouldn't be tempted to go to another contender (ex. leafs) for say 6mil which is maybe double or triple than what SJ could have given him. That's probably the only scenario that he's not a Shark next yr.
For Kadri in a heart beat.
That's the thing, he may be worth that contract but not the assets we give up. I really like him as a player, we do have cap space that a lot of teams don't, so that is where my intrigue would lie, but it's the cost beyond the cash.7.5m might be more than most people think he is worth, but if you believe he'll keep up 60ish 2-way points for his entire contract duration I would be happy to add him. However, I don't want to give up significant assets for him. With the cap going up 5m this year and probably continuing to go up the next few years (especially if Seattle joins 19-20/20-21) pretty much all elite players are going to start getting the 10m+ contracts and I think his contract will end up being the average for his skillset soon (also we should be able to afford his contract plus the young 3 and look to add in the coming years still).
If it costs anything significant though, it's not worth the assets plus his contract. If we are making any trades with significant assets leaving the Leafs, it HAS to be for a top 4 defender.
Whats Plan D, E, and F then?Plan C is Bozak
Whats Plan D, E, and F then?
Save us all a bunch of time if we start grouping these together and shooting down multiple plans at a time..
Can't imagine that happeningPlan C is Bozak

wrong.kadri is just as good, babcock has him turned around, thirty goal shutdown center making 4.5. untouchable imo
IMO, all his moves are going to be interesting with his lack of track record. I'm going to keep an open mind though, keep the faith. It’ll be really interesting to see what Dubas does at this position.

Kadri never looked like a bust. I would not want Ryan on the Leafs as he is a me first player and not required for us.He was back in his Av days. When Kadri looked like a bust. Either way ROR is sick of Buffalo and Eichel has even said he's sick of losing (but they'd never ever trade him). The leafs will get a center esp if Bozak walks which is likely..its a matter of who and when.
Could be Jumbo Joe cheap because his knees are shot and I dont see SJ giving him a contract. His chemistry with Marleau is undeniable but he has to stay healthy to have that so hard to say...big risk big reward

Who was everyone ? You and a few people on here who know nothing. A 50 pt center is not a bust..Not sure what team you're watching before Babcock everyone was saying he was a bust. He kept going up and down wasn't scoring nothing. Two years under Babs and he is a far better player
He scored 30 without Marner year before dim bulb.Brain Cramp is inevitable every time he hits the ice, He's nothing without Marner.
