Will you stop being a fan if Game 7 is a loss?

  • Yes

  • No

Voted yes. If they lose tomorrow, the only thing that would make me a fan again would be blowing up the organization from top to bottom, and starting completely from scratch (no staff member or player should be safe from firings/trades).

Habs fan coming in peace, I understand you guys being fed up and frustrated. If you see what our bonehead GM did in the past 9 years, you’ll understand. 9 years later and he gives us this team?? Nothing but a Bunch of old farts on our team

Perry (35)
Petry (33)
Weber (35)
Staal (36)
A bunch of old farts who forced the new boys to a game 7. I hope so badly that we would win. I’ll be watching game 7 praying for a miracle
Feels like this could be a lose - lose situation for both teams. Bergevin and Ducharme might get extended and the leafs will continue to show us hope and then crush it with despair.

your management over the years has given you multiple exciting playoff runs including series wins over Washington and Boston even though they never tanked or had superstars aside from maybe Subban once upon a time. We had nothing like that. Bottom feeder team in the playoffs. Team hasn't won a single round in more than a decade.

Through thick and thin. Never going to change my stance. This is my team. Been disappointed before. Will be disappointed again. Hopefully tomorrow is different. GLG

I wouldn’t go be a fan of another team, but I might actually just cut hockey out of my life entirely. Have a little one coming, time is going to be even harder to carve out, and I regularly need to shift priorities to things that are worth my time.
Congrats my man. Don't even tell him what the Leafs are. It's better for his future.

No, definitely not but the bigger question is what do you do moving forward? It will be a long frigging summer if they lose tomorrow and personally I don't have any solutions so it's easy to understand why people would lose faith.

I will consider it seriously, but after a long offseason probably watch. But maybe not with the same passion or attentiveness. Just fast forward to the playoffs where they will get destroyed like they always do, because this franchise is pathetic.

It's not so much that this specific loss will make me stop being a fan. It's moreso that with a young daughter, almost done school (for the second time,) and a various other things to keep me busy in life I just don't have the time to continue watching a bunch of losers.

In that respect, I don't know if "stop being a fan" is the right wording for me... Moreso, "not worth my time."

I've been following the Leafs since the Sundin days. I remember Paul Maurice and getting Ron Wilson. I remember the Phaneuf/Kessel days, the Grabovski/Kulemin period, losing horrendously to Boston when up 4-1. Watching Boston draft Seguin and then Hamilton back to back. Finding Bozak as a "wallet". The Capitals series, the embarrassing Columbus series.

The one thing that has remained consistent throughout all this is that this is a team that cannot handle any pressure. They just completely fall apart and disappear. It's one thing to get routed by stacked teams that eventually go on to win the cup, but to lose the way they do, to the teams they do, just makes me feel like a moron for watching the same thing year on end with zero change.

I watch a lot of hockey, and probably the only other organization as disappointing as this one is Edmonton.

What's even funnier in all of this, you have primma donnas paid mega bucks to just disappear. You gotta draw the line somewhere and this is where it would be for me. Doubt I'll ever tune in to anything Maple Leafs barring a loss tomorrow.

I have decided that I will continue to follow them IF: a) they advance to at least the semi-finals (it has to go at least 6 games if they lose)
b) if they don’t get to the semi-finals, then Dubas has to go
If neither of these occur, I will be choosing a different team, or stop watching hockey altogether (I have cheered for them since Darryl Sittler played for them back in the ‘70s).

Well...

A. You messed up the intent of this sentence.
B. You're throwing a temper tantrum
C. You're full of crap, and you'll be watching pre season games as soon as they air in the fall

I'll always be a fan but if we lose this offseason is going to be a tough one. There's no obvious way to go because the supporting cast is mostly on one year deals, but they've been very good. If it's finally time to change the core, we will be taking a different path than the one we've been on for since 2016-17.

I’m having a bit of a tantrum of my own and it’s entirely possible that I crack and am fawning over Robertson again come October.

No, why would I stop being a fan? This is an amazing sport and our team has amazing storylines every year. I will support them always! I can't wait to go see games again.

I gave up watching hockey for a while during dead puck. It was just too boring, I couldn't take it anymore. But I was still rooting for the Leafs at that time. I would check the standings every now and then.

Nope can’t stop won’t stop as much as it hurts and as much crap as I’m gonna take from all the Habs fans around me I will ALWAYS bleed blue and white

f***ing leafs don't do this. Please don't. Just win tomorrow. Show up on time and dominate a vastly inferior Habs team. Take that and roll with it onto the 2nd round

It burns me having to see and read other teams fans trolling the players, management, fans and the city of Toronto even but I have no defense or counter. The leafs have choked so far but they can fix that by winning tomorrow

The fact that I'm not going to be watching the game tomorrow just screams how bad we've been in the past that it's led to this

So many die hard loyalists are quickly losing passion and they can't be faulted. New born children won't get the joy and experience of being leaf fans if this continues with people looking to cut hockey out or atlwadt the leafs out from their lives.

I'm hoping that history reverses itself tomorrow and we break the curse. The players have to get this done, they owe the fans. Please just pull off the win

Unfortunately I won't be able to.

I won't be watching them again for a long, long time though.

Yeah I probably will try not to watch a single regular season game of theirs next season.
Might catch a couple here and there. But I'll just wait for the playoffs.

Who isn't? But let's be adult about it and stop the idle threats about quitting.

I'll say this: it would be tough to justify spending time watching this team again in the fall if major changes are not made to the roster. Because status quo won't get them out of the Atlantic division. I'll still watch, probably, because I am a sucker and hockey is still my favourite sport.
