If it's not Jack Campbell who should be the Leafs new #1 goalie?

  • We're expecting server maintenance on March 3rd starting at midnight, there may be downtime during the work.
  • Xenforo Cloud has upgraded us to version 2.3.6. Please report any issues you experience.
Please remind me of the available goaltenders that don't have a performance risk.

I would like the Leafs to have one of them next season.

Some risks are bigger than others. Why saddle themselves with one of the bigger risks?

No one will be other than a select few

Likely those select few probably forgot this happened last trade deadline. :wg:

The Toronto Maple Leafs placed goalie Petr Mrazek on waivers, and signed Finnish goalie Harri Sateri on Sunday.

Sateri, 32, needs to clear waivers before he can join the Leafs for the remainder of the 2021-22 season.

Petr Mrazek (TOR) among those placed on waivers today, but cleared with no takers, while Sateri was claimed by Arizona.

Maybe Leafs plan on repeating this strategy and waiving Mrazek again and Leafs going after Harri Sateri again this summer.

Kyper this morning suggested the same, the Leafs arent thrilled with the market and they're contemplating staying internal to start the season - Mrazek + Woll/Kallgren

Mrazek can't stay healthy.
He's definitely done. He'll attempt to come back, for legal purposes to fulfill his contract and collect the money. But he's not going to play more than a few games before a re-injury. He's been injured alot before coming and now its permanent.

Woll / Kallgren - will be our goalies next year other than moving a piece to get a goalie.

We can probably outscore enough teams in the regular season. So our first round exit streak is still alive.

There is the option of ltir aka the Lupul loophole, no assets wasted, if there isn't a trade scenario.
That said there is still rumbling about Chicago taking him, but at what cost/return?
I would think he will be healthy by camp.

this would be a terrible message to send to your top players…

Sounds like Mrazek is the #1.

If you're right and Mrazek is injured, then LTIR might solve the Leafs' cap problem as far as his contract goes.

Then they're in the market, and there will be other options without spending cap space and hockey assets to clear Mrazek out.

They can cross that bridge then.

Maybe something better will work out before then, as none of the options are very good at all.

Still, no need to panic.

If this happens, I am not watching a single game next year. Because this will prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are not serious about winning.

The good news is Dubas is staking his career on this.
If he actually does roll with Mrazek and Kallgren he needs to be fired.
