What kind of return Habs would get at the deadline for those players:

UFA to be :

Desharnais
Radulov
Markov

Players with 1 more year:

Plekanec
Emelin
Mitchell

All of your UFAS will get you a 3rd or 4th ....

All of your players with one more year could be a 2nd or 3rd...2nd in the case of Pleky,or Emelin...

wow the season has not even started and already a what if the Habs fold again?

WHat if the Leafs all die in a plane crash?
What if the Pens go bust and sell the team to Quebec.
What if Price gets hurt again, Gally gets hurt again, Rad is a BUST, Weber breaks both his legs, and the rest get the ZIka virus and must be quarantined for 3 months. WHat would the habs do, how CHEAP will they be forced to sell of prospects. What would be the lowest low ball offer would you give for the Habs TOP PROSPECTS.

Vermette got a 1st at the deadline. Plekanec is a WAY better C then Vermette. He'll easily get a 1st

Markov will prob get AT LEAST 2 2nds or 2nd + prospect. Heck he's a way better D-man then Timmonen and Polak and both these guys notched 2nd/1st at the deadline in recent years.

DD will bring zero value to the Habs.

I could see Radulov getting a 1st if he has a good season (which i'm pretty sure he will as a ''Redemption'' season)

Emelin a 4th maybe? 2nd/3rd with retention?

I really believe you're going to see teams being very hesitant to trade 1st. IF plekanec gets a first, it would be a bottom 5 first.

I'm very hesitant about your point on Markov....I would like to see how Montreals offence is on the back end without PK.

DD will bring SOME type of value with retention for a team to fit him onto their third line.

Radulov will not get a first because he's still viewed as a basket case.

UFA to be :

Desharnais 3rd
RadulovDepends on his years production but i would guess a late 1st or early second
Markov2 x 2nds

Players with 1 more year:

Plekaneclate 1st and a B prospect
Emelin2nd and 3rd
Mitchell2nd

Plekanec would interest teams in need of a good center past this year and maybe past his actual contract. Not many teams fit the bill though.

Emelin (grit and toughness) and Mitchell (speed and defensive play) bring important elements for playoffs push.

Emelin might needs retention because of his last contract year.

The 3 rentals are prime offensive pieces and many teams might be interested.

Damn, a "if we're out of the playoffs" thread in August, that's gotta be a new record.

You should change the title to "if Carey gets injured again"

haha. You know what, i almost did.

In my mind, i'm not sure Price can be healthy all year long. I'm pretty sure it is a recurent problem that will handicaps his career.

And obviously, if Price can't come back to form, it spells complete rebuild for the Habs IMO.

Price won't be resigned, Habs will need to find a decent no.1 goaltender thru UFA and draft well.

So what?? He is a rental.

The guy still puts up 50 pts and play a fairly decent defensive game.

If there is a situation where age dpoesn't matter, it is when you are a rental.

Hey again.... Lets take a look at Montreals offence this year from the Blue line with no PK...

Sticking your head in the sand and saying that I don't have some grounds to say that Markov
may not be a 50 point man anymore without PK on that team is a bit short sighted.

So heres a good question for you. Markov stinks this year, He puts up 20 points and is hurt for 25% of the season.... what is he worth?

As long as Price is healthy, I don't see any way the Habs miss the playoffs, let alone be a seller on deadline day. But to answer the question:

DD - nothing. How many teams are really thinking "we're one Desharnais away from a championship."

Radulov- impossible to predict until we see him at the NHL level again. Possibly a 1st, maybe more.

Markov - 2nd + average prospect.

Plekanec - the most value of the bunch, a 1st + B prospect gets the conversation started.

Emelin - not sure, 3rd maybe.

Mitchell - see Emelin.

It's pretty rare for a team to move 6 players on deadline day.

If Mitchell fetches a 3rd I'd honesty laugh at the Sabres poor asset management as he doubled his value lol

If the habs are out at the deadline with a healthy price, we need a complete reconstruction. Because our team won't be better in the coming years.

Yeah but no chance in hell it is happening. Habs are cup contenders with a healthy Price.

Offense got take care of and defense will be more stable with Weber.

More grit to the team. More capable of long playoffs run.

Rats. Forgot about that...I was under the impression he was one of the top d-men in the league...idiot me lol.

Not since the 7th game against the Sharks.

In 1 game he went from top 5 to not a 1st D anymore. Hell he was the 4th best of his team based on advanced stats.
