Everything Price stopped was completely stoppable not only for Luongo, but any competent NHL goaltender. If any of the shots he faced went in today, it would have definitely been a labeled bad goal. Canada limited the scoring chances he faced tremendously.Yeah, I think it's gotta be Price. His performance today was outstanding, and he has been a rock the rest of the team can rely on. If Luongo was in net, this tournament would have been a different story for Canada.
Kessel has had a great Olympics, but I doubt the MVP will go to a player not in the Gold Medal game. Doughty and Karlsson seem like reasonable choices depending which way the game goes, but if Price or Lundqvist throws another shut out, that could change things.Kessel, Doughty and Karlsson.
Pending on who wins.
Carter perhaps as well.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure if Luongo was playing he'd have scored a hat trick.Everything Price stopped was completely stoppable not only for Luongo, but any competent NHL goaltender. At the end of the day, he didn't let any in. So good for him. He played suffice. With the way Canada was all over the Americans and Quick, it would have been pretty deflating for Price to let in a goal.

At the end of the day, he didn't let any in, and proved he can perform under high pressure, so good for him. He played suffice. With the way Canada was all over the Americans and Quick, it would have been pretty deflating for Price to let in a stoppable goal.

Strong ignorance. And if the Austria game was any indication, I'm sure Luongo would've done just fine in place of Price.Sureeee buddy lol
If it was Lu in nets, Americans would have had another 15-20 shots on nets on top of the 31 they had just because Lu gives up nothing but juicy rebounds. Unlike Lu, Price either holds on to the puck or deflects it to the corner.
Luongo is the only one with a Gold medal last time I checked.Price in 2014 >>>>> Luongo in 2010.
I don't think Price has had the opportunity to be MVP, the team is playing too well.
Even if Price hadn't let in a single goal to this point, I still don't think he'd win because as others have said, he hasn't gotten the chance really to be heavily relied on consistently. Could change tomorrow though?
