Karlsson doesn't need a stay at home defender though. He will flourish regardless because he is so talented in all aspects of the game.

I'd argue that Karlsson would actually be even better with a great 2-way defenseman that can help him keep offensive pressure on and that can support him in creating chances and potentially finishing them.

OEL - Karlsson on the national stage should show what I mean soon enough.

I thought this was going to be a marc methot appreciation thread. Him and karlsson have been unbelieveable together so far. They are showing great chemistry in the early goings. Meth skates well, very solid defensively and makes a good first pass. He knows his role and is playing it great.

This. I think Cowen will end up EK's long term partner, and maybe Methot with Ceci when Ceci makes the team in a couple of years.

the puck would never be in our end for more than three seconds at a time with those two on the ice.

i think the answer is chara. most people agree with that opinion, and who can blame us for thinking a chara - karlsson pairing would be amazing? although if those two were on the same team

that cowen - karlsson pairing in the future should be pretty great though. maybe we want cowen to anchor his own pair in the future?
