I'd give Keefe till the 20 game mark

Yep, I've hit that point now. He's managed to make all the same stupid mistakes Babcock made, but compound them with his own cowardice. And the room has clearly tuned him right out.

I imagine Dubas' response to any question about Keefe's job being on the line for the rest of the season:

"But but they went 2-0 against the Bruins and Canes."

They can put up a banner and have a handshake line to commemorate it for all I care.

If they lose tonight, they should all be gone. Realistically they should all be gone anyway, this is a tire fire

The mid season is usually a fairly uncommon time to fire a front office since there's few active replacements available who aren't already under contract somewhere else. I wouldn't expect it to happen until the offseason if it comes down to it

Well, Montreal cleaned house last November right? That was a finals appearance followed up by a historically bad start.

It definitely CAN happen. But there's no changing that it's the time when the lowest number of potential alternative candidates are available. You're basically left picking from the remaining crop of unemployed guys, or just riding out an official interim GM at that point until the offseason

I agree. I think Dubas’ greatest chance at job security is basically how inconvenient it would be to dismiss him in season. But that’s hardly a vote of confidence since this roster is just so shaky.

In the offseason they don't have to fire. Dubas wasn't offered a contract extension; and right so.

One win doesn’t change that validity of this thread

We won 3-2 against Vancouver, a team that gives up more goals than they have wins. We should be playing much better and producing 5v5 against bad teams like this, that isn’t much to be proud of.

Wasn’t the Trotz to Toronto rumour predicated on how the next 15 games would go after the California trip? Right now it feels like we’re treading water and having good and bad 3-4 game segments.

They are also giving up far fewer goals than last few years.

So what translates into better odds in a playoff series?

If the Leafs have decided to limit chances and play a more possession/ cycle game instead of a track meet style and still win more than they lose using a 4th string goalie then they will be fine
