Frees up a lot of cap/term and gets younger with Hoglander. Let’s not be so hyperbolic. My proposal was just a base, not the exact deal that would get done.
There is no base. Mikheyev, Hoglander and Koykaniemi were all worthless in the playoffs. Necas is far ad away the best player in that deal.

For the upteenth time, taking on a bad contract (Mikheyev) for Kotkaniemi makes no sense, when his buyout is so cheap and the point of dealing him would be to clear cap, not take it on.

Kotkaniemi is on a bad deal too, yes, but the point of trading him would be for a late round pick or future considerations.

Necas is worth more than Hoglander, don’t think that needs any explanation.

Need anything else explained to you?
Wow you are condescending. Hope everything is okay at home

According to Frank Seravalli and Daily Face Off:

Frank says that Carolina is the team to watch and big moves could be happening this week as they are needing to get the ball rolling on signing some of their UFAs.

I mean there is enough of a break here would be nice if there were some deals to talk about

He is also not wrong lol. Necas >>> Hoglander. KK>>Mikheyev. Would be brutal for the Canes unless there is a lot mroe value coming from Vancouver.
Calgary will probably be dumb and start the bidding at Vans 1st + two seconds for Necas and KK.
The only way I want Necas on the Flames is if it is a swap for Markstrom which the Canes won't do.

Why are they seemingly so hell bent on trading him ? Did they have talks and know they are far apart?

There's been nothing said by insiders to support that framing. In fact, LeBrun wrote last week that they'd be comfortable moving forward with him if they don't get what they want in trade.

Seravalli hunting for clicks and attention
I used to wonder why everyone used to shit on him and then this year he started becoming a regular on a few local radio hits here in Vancouver and I now totally get it. Not only does he talk a lot of BS about trades but he's also an arrogant prick who not only gets combative with our local guys, he's two faced and extremely petty.

He for no real reason called out the fans of Vancouver as being pretentious claiming real fans can't afford to go to playoff games unlike the blue collar oiler fans when Rogers arena was easily the loudest building and was full of obviously die-hard fans, the fact many were well off is in his eyes a negative.

He then called out EP for saying he was injured and then doubled down saying he was basically lying.

Like regardless if he was lying (he wasn't) how unprofessional for him a reporter, to cross that line especially when Petey said point blank he played like shit even with the injury. The whole hit was just an all out personal attack. The fact that EP actually is dealing with tendonitis and that came out before all of this went down makes it even more odd.

Hearing..
Hronek for Necas + 2nd + prospect

Also hearing..
Hronek + Mikheyev for Necas + kotkaniemi + 2nd

Necas doesn’t move the needle much for Vancouver, slight upgrade on Hoglander, he’s a good middle 6 winger which are a dime a dozen compared to top pairing puck moving RHD. Would be unthinkable for a team to move a player like Hronek but the Canucks have Q. Hughes (similar style game). Also why would the Canucks want to be stuck with Kotkaniemi contract longer than Mikheyev one. Interesting to see how this all plays out.
