I agree and I start on Tuesday - Monday is Family Day.You should go work for hockey Canada with this exceptional analysis

I’m only laughing because he’s already on the first line. He’s a solid player.Only in Canada would we scoff at a nearly 60 goal scorer (57) goal scorer and cup champ.
Helped keep team Canada forwards from doing anything noticeable as well, which led to a 3-1 win. That’s awesome he led them in ice time. He did absolutely nothing noticeable on the ice though.
I agree Marner is a flawed player and he could be moved, but what about the rest of the team of "dawgs" and "superstars," why do they get a pass?If you watch the Leafs enough, you'd notice Marner tries to create offense near the blueline. He doesn't go into corners or go to the net. If there is a loose puck, he allows the opponent to get to it first and then tries to pick his pocket. He's frightened of physical hockey.
After the first practice Mcdavid was asked what it's like playing with Reinhart and Marner. He said this about Marner "Marner..the playmaker..um plays high in the zone".
Interestingly... during game 1, Marner was rarely high in the zone.
Mcdavid and him were also caught in a heated discussion on the bench.
After the game, Marner was asked about playing with Mcdavid and he said they are still talking things through where eachother will be on the ice.
It's very evident that even Mcdavid after just one practice was wondering what the hell Marner is doing out there and told him he doesn't want him high in the zone.
Yet in Toronto, despite Berube repeatedly telling reporters he wants two to the net at all times....Marner is still always standing near the blueline.
Not sure what games you have been watching Matthews has been a beast defensively and has generated good chances.I mean Matthews has been awful too. I guess it negates
No he’s been bad. Unless this is what you expected from him. FineNot sure what games you have been watching Matthews has been a beast defensively and has generated good chances.
He's got another level to reach but defensively he's done a great job. Made a few clutch backchecks last night to disrupt Canadian rushes. No he’s been bad. Unless this is what you expected from him. Fine
Yea, but Marner stunk the game before that too......until non contact 3 on 3 started.doing a bunch of nothing, turnover after turnover
dude looked like John Tavares out there tonight, he missed passes, and caused the GWG and barely got anything to the net. His line was bad enough that they split him and Mackinnon up
marner made that bad play, but he set Point up in the slot x2 on the Canadians pp but he couldn't bury
Canada played bad, they had bad goaltending, they generated very little, but if marner shouldn't be here than I can list almost the entire Canadian team right beside him
Dubas will sign him in Pittsburg and make him the highest paid player ever. Can't wait to see Marner in a Bruins sweater next season.
I’ll drive him there if he needs it.Can't wait to see Marner in a Bruins sweater next season.
The Virgin Marner: Does nothing and gets killed for it (harassment)Binnington soft goal, Crosby give away, Marner give away and a team reluctant to shoot the puck. More went wrong than just the need to single out Marner. Canadas best were just out played by the Americans best.
And I’ll drive him right back.I’ll drive him there if he needs it.
Didn't Marner have the GWG against Sweden?
LOL.
You don't know the GRIEF I experienced.![]()
Bro, get off Matthews boner. He hasn’t been anything special at all so far.
Of course you would get backlash. The en goal started from behind the US net. It may have been the next thing you knew though. Marner's no look pass, while kinda dumb had no effect. Larken cleared the puck to center. Canada shot the puck back in Helli stopped the puck and USA broke out and scored the goal. Marner was back playing defense at the line.(* I am sure I will get a TON of backlash over this thread but... *)
I got so much grief over Marner. For years I said Marner should NOT be on Team Canada. For YEARS I was ridiculed.
I heard how good he is. How you cannot leave those points at home. How LOTS of players bleep the bed in the playoffs but do wonderfully when playing for Canada.
Marner's NO LOOK pass 6 on 5... WOW!
We lost possession and the next thing you know, it was 3-1. What was Marner thinking? Oh yeah, as usual, he wasn't thinking.
**
I hope we get a 2nd shot at the U.S. Pick up some momentum against Finland and win the GMG.
Good news for leaf fans is that it’s pretty unlikely that both Matthews AND Marner will continue to be “losers” who “you can’t win with” after this tournament is over.
One of them is going to win! suck it HFboards posters
(If not those two, Nylander will win lol)
I don’t think anyone would argue he’s not a valuable player in 3v3 hockeyYou're going overboard.
The guy scored the game winner in game one. As much as I'm skeptical and wasn't in favour of him coming on board you have to acknowledge that he did come up big.
there's no 3 on 3 in the playoffsYou're going overboard.

Not my point.
I will ask AGAIN, who tries a NO LOOK pass, 6 on 5, with 2 minutes left and you are down by 1 ???
Why would he do that ??? What an arrogant ass. The next thing you know, the puck is out of our zone and in the CDN net. LOL!
