Sitting at work, all alone. Haven't seen another soul for hours. The spicy chicken quesadilla I had for supper is starting to catch up with me. The coast is clear, so I let one rip, and it's a big timer. BRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAPPPPP. I've never been in combat, but in the movies I've seen, that's what automatic weapon fire sounds like. Short burst, loud, sudden and sublimely destructive. And of course, here comes a person, as if they just materialized out of thin air. I didn't hear they key card beep or the door's squeak as it opens. Nothing. And there she is, the cutest girl in the office. She doesn't seem to notice any smell, so I'm thinking maybe it was all air and I'm golden. She goes to her desk, grabs a couple things off it and heads out. "Have a nice night!" "Yeah, you too." And I breathe my sigh of relief, and before the sigh is a third of the way out she tosses over her shoulder "Remind me never to sneak up on you like that again!"
