That's my go-to move with a lot of the automated technology I deal with at work. No joke. Millions of dollars in automation here and it's usually the stupidest fixes that work.

We use auto negotiation between Ethernet routers, but not towards customers equipment. But it’s a common issue lol.

I put my TV on a stand in front of the fireplace because it was the only spot in the room it made sense, and we aren't going to use the fireplace anyway. I gutted it and put a dual subwoofer box in there.
