Unfortunately for the coach, if your team isn't getting the message, you have to go. Will it resolve anything? Maybe not. I don't think anybody is looking at this team and going the coach ruined the season, even with his iffy lines, but it feels like the coach and the players aren't on the same page here. And I don't think you can go into next season with the same coach.

The Housley experiment should be over. I don't think he gets hired if it weren't for being on Laviolette's previous coaching staff

Kick Drury to the moon as well.

You're 100% right.

The coach hasn't done anything to help matters though. He just keeps on pushing the same button that hasn't worked and expecting things to change because its what hes comfortable with.

I think its worth seeing what we have with one of the assistants in an interim basis. Lavi is basically doing a repeat of his Washington stint.

I don't think most of the core should survive this either and was hoping that they could have at least gotten through the season before axing him but Im tired of the faux accountability that he only wants to apply to players who aren't his favorites.

It's simpler than that.....seems the team in general lacks knowledge of fundamental hockey: they don't shoot the puck, they can't pass worth a damn and are worse at receiving passes, they don't (and/or refuse) to finish their checks -- and don't get me started about covering their man.

When some guys get older and slower they start trying to take shortcuts. They look for ways to "cheat" instead of moving their legs. Guys that could still do well 5 on 4 look bad 5 on 5. That is how I felt about Bread vs Colorado. I think Bread knew he was gassed but he felt like if he stayed out on offense he could have just enough to get it done but when it came to skating back on defense he faced reality.

I will say this. Mika’s entire vibe has changed significantly in the last 4-5 weeks. His play, his interviews. He seems dialed in and competitive. I always knock the guy so have to give him some credit too.
