To Pens: Arvidsson and 2026 1st rounder

Oilers get a winger who's red hot this year, can play with an elite center, has the versatility to play either wing well, and locked into a solid deal for 3 more years when the cap crunch hits Edmonton. They also shed a player who hasn't performed to his contract and is on the hook for 4 mil next year.

Pens get another 1st to add to the cupboard and a reclamation project they hope will fit better with Crosby or Malkin than he has with McD or Drai.

I was looking at Arvidsson more as a no value cap balancer.

The concept is fine but I'm kinda underwhelmed by it. It's similar to the Moore and a 1st for Rakell idea, but Arvidsson is worse than Moore and the Oilers 1st is likely worse than the Kings 1st.
