According Laine, he isn't going to waste a second for the hockey during the break, doesn't comment the status of the coach saying it's not his business as he is only playing the game, and he is going to a golf holiday at Florida with Aleksander Barkov.

Laineen Winnipegille tauko tulee tarpeeseen – "En uhraa ajatustakaan jääkiekolle!"

Article also notes normal cries about Jets current purgatory, not worth listing as everyone here knows the stuff.

Maybe Laine can convince Barkov to come back with him and play for the Jets .;)

This team needs a big change and unfortunately the easiest is firing the coach . We need someone out of the organisation though , a completely different view and system . Brossoit sucks and has since the second half of last season , bring Berdin up to get a taste of the NHL . As bad as this defense is Brossoit absolutely lost this game for us , we score finally getting a lead , he lets in a crap goal right away lead gone , we score and again lets in a crap goal right away , it's completely deflating , just brutal . And i can't believe how much we play perimeter hockey , it's boring and not a good way to try and win games .

It is time for Chevy to go. He bled players over the summer and did absolutely nothing. Nothing! This is not on Maurice, it's on Chevy. I'm fed up of losing now.

Except this team has been bad since the middle of last season. Chevy definitely hasn't helped make things better but Paul has had almost a full season now to right this ship and has shown he either can't or won't. I don't know which one.

Chevy destroyed an expected contender.

Any team in this league can be good for awhile, but to be good consistently you need a good team, and the number of teams being able to do that drop by a mile.

They both should be fired, for Chevys job with the defense and Maurice not getting the max out of the roster he has been given in the recent years.

They can both go and all the coaching staff. The culture of silence and entitlement around the team, as well as the failure to act is on Chipman. Stop yelling True North at games and start putting the pressure on Chipman where it will actually be effective.

There’s nothing wrong with saying he wasn’t that bad either. I don’t have blinders on but I’m far too uninterested to discuss it. Who cares really.

I agree with you about being uninterested. Boring, terrible hockey with no apparent changes in sight.

Commentators saying the team isn't done because they're only 3 points out with a game in hand, ignoring that somewhat recently they were 6 points above the playoff line. And that game in hand is on a team who's been playing well but getting no goaltending.

Hilarious that he only calls out his favorite whipping boys. Where was he a few games ago when Scheifele made about the laziest attempt at a defensive play that I have ever seen. Or Connor's myriad of awful defensive board plays. Accountability should be for everyone Moe, not just for your least favorite players, one of the reasons why this team is so dysfunctional imo.

Agree. Look at Trotz Barzal situation. Everyone needs to be accountable to the team for their play.

Put a healthy Buff in the opening day lineup and reduce the injury games lost on this team (especially on the back end) by 25 or 30 percent and this team looks much, much better. Injuries are not Chevy's fault and the economics of the league today don't really allow for much flexibility in bringing in more bodies. You only have so many contracts and so much money on those contracts. He did bring in some bodies so he's been trying, but you don't blow up your team and make huge trades because of injuries, you do them to make your team better.

My take is that the coaching has become an issue. I like Maurice. He's personable, intelligent and has a good feel of when to get "vocal" on the bench. However, he also has this team playing one system, and only one system. There is no adaptation in his game and that is what today's NHL team needs to be successful.

Yep , lets all start booing the Jets , stop yelling True North , stop going to games until we lose the team AGAIN .

See, that's the thing - I realize this is the "new" NHL when fortunes can turn around quick (maybe semi-quick?), but I'm STILL gutted that the Jets went from Cup contender just two seasons ago, and now, it seems the window is shut.
Trouba
Buffy
Chiarot
Myers
Armia
Tanev
Petan
Dano
Stastny
(Enstrom)

Every one of these would make Jets a better team

Calls out Ehlers but plays Connor 20+ minutes every night when he can never get the puck out.

I’m not sure what he’s trying to accomplish when he doubles down on guys that can’t defend at all but then plays arguably you best ES player and one of your top offensive players like a 3rd liner. It’s absolutely asinine. Connor is gifted top minutes with top players while Ehlers plays with guys producing at 3rd and 4th line rates. :help:
Yet Connor accomplished more with those minutes gifted than Laine who has exact same minutes minus pk and has half the points.

This is my toughts on the Jets season so far

Dustin Byfuglien 6'5 260
Jacob Trouba 6'3 205
Tyler Myers 6'8 230
Ben Chairot 6'3 220

Neil Pionk 6'0 190
Sami Niku 6'1 195
Lucas Sbisia 6'3 205
Anthony Bitetto 6'1 210

Think about that for a moment. We had the top 4 in our lineup last year and now we have the bottom 4 in our lineup

We lost all that size and aggressiveness and we replaced it with less skilled, smaller sized and less aggressive players

Even with Helly playing at an Vezina level and some of our forwards like Laine playing much better this year we are not a good well rounded team.

I bet teams find it real easy to play against us now. I think it shows in our home record this year.

It is Chevy's fault and PoMo's fault. It will cost PoMo his job at some point. They probably should just play some fire wagon hockey going forward and at least make it exciting for the fans.

Should they crush the make up of this team? Probably not. But they may need to re tool this team. I wouldn't be surprised to see them move one of our Forwards for help on the backend even if Buff comes back.
