I know the shot totals weren't what you want, but I really liked the way they played after Bratt scored. I can't only think of a couple saves Allen had to make after it went 2-0 that weren't totally routine.

Really don't think they gave them much of anything that 3rd period. Killed the crowd too.

The PK and the 5 on 6 were both really well defended.

I thought Mercer was good for 2nd half of game. I saw some dodgy play early on, but definitely settled in himself, that line with Nico and Meier really cementing.

Yeah, that might be a slow burn line that takes time. Jack and Bratt are starting to cook with (Noeson/Cotter)?

Yeah i think Mercer is starting to look better. Keefe is also asking these guys to actually play a little defense unlike Ruff so they are adjusting.

Zero reason for concern for me there.

Yeah, seeing Bratt on the PK is still unnerving, but he's taking it in stride and being useful with it.

Team D is improving too. Keefe is going to have it be a major strength for this team by season's end.

Team is trending the right way, going to take a little more time for Keefe to work out the kinks and get things more consistent.

But I see the vision.

Bratt started his career on the PK. He was always capable of being a good penalty killer, he's got the smarts for it.

Yeah sadly. At least the Devils did distance themselves from the bottom half of the division once the games played evens out. I think we would have taken this start back in the summer, considering the changes, injuries and new coach.

While Allen was definitely really good in this game I don’t even really think he was as great as you’d normally expect a goalie to be to get a shutout with the performances they had defensively in front of him. I think this game was a bigger case of Edmonton f***ing up their chances than Allen robbing them. I can’t remember which game it was for us but I remember saying something similar that we were throwing away our chances rather than the goalie stealing things
