I am guaranteeing the Leafs make it past the first round this year

For real? I just hope people are not satisfied with just winning a round
Belfour was treated like a god here, all he ever did in Toronto was just winning a single round.

Matthews and co. will receive the same treatment if they win just one round here for sure.

That said, I personally won't be satisfied one bit.

Are you a genie and if so, do you intend to wish Vasilevskiy, Kucherov, Stamkos, Point & Hedman to an alternate timeline?
If we are bringing genie into it ..

Can we get Pasta DK Zacha for Tavares and 5th rounder? It would work cap wise.

Keys to beat TB.

-Stay out of the box, PK well.
-Keep the emotional level of series low.
-Improve on PP
-3 lines need to score
-Play .905-910 in net.

Did the entire Tampa Bay Lightning team come down with the plague and the Leafs got a bye??

Is winning 1 playoff round going to fix anger, depression, resentment, dismay, blasé, etc. ?
I bet you it would. I don’t think you understand how low the bar is with this team right now. Lol.

You can be unsatisfied with winning just one round while still acknowledging that it's step one in winning the Cup.
For a team like Toronto, I wouldn't be surprised if they go

Game 6/7 Loss in ESF to Bruins --> 2023
SCF (hopeful win) --> 2024

It's pretty much mental and in the player's heads now. One series win will push this group through and help them have a huge run shortly afterward.

Obviously, wish we win the cup this year, but even a second-round exit is huge and shows progress and the players learning how to win.

I can't fault them for losing to a 120-130 point bruin team that has defied the odds longer than Matthews has been in the NHL, as long as they don't get bullied and dominated in 4 games.

We could be like the Avs who struggled in round 2 before winning it all

Cernak, bogosian, cole, perbix... its pretty poor

Pessimism is generally the name of the game around here.

But it's also fairly objective to point out: the Leafs took Tampa to game 7 last year, and at this point the Leafs are a stronger team compared to last season after the ROR trade.....
