I’ve heard Darren McCarty on his show talk about Yzerman’s hatred for goalies in general lol. “He has no use for them”. I think the bottom line from Yzerman is stop the damn puck.

It's hard for me to believe the GM who drafted Vasilevsky and watched him on his team for most of his career hates goalies and "has no use for them."

Steve won his cups as a player because his goalies had amazing defensemen in front of them. That's not to take away from Vernon and Osgood, because Vernon did get the Conn Smythe. That said, Lidstrom, Konstantinov, Murphy, and Fetisov make any goalie's job much easier. Hasek is really the only generational goalie this team has had since Sawchuck, at least in my lifetime.

Gylander and Alexander are in Toledo based on their roster.

Campbell is on PAP and Subban is on GR PTO. So GR has a roster spot if Husso clears. I doubt he gets loaned to Europe, because it would be harder to recall him if a goalie gets injured.

Oh no...we might not get to see Husso in a Wings uniform again...how terrible...

Yeah he hates them so much he drafted Cossa and Gus, 1st and 2nd round.

I wish Stevie would hate me too.

Husso doesn't bother me if he's sitting on the bench. The team has to dress 2, only one has to play.

In my uneducated opinion, watching a game with Husso in net is the same as with Reimer in net. Husso looks fine technically but can't get in the way of a puck by accident if you paid him to. Which, in fact, they do. Reimer is the Bizarro Hasek who flails and swims and misses most everything important somehow.

I don't know from numbers, but watching them in net, as a fan, gives me the vapors. Clone Lyon and switch them out game per game, and I won't have any "Did you SEE that?!?!?" goalie memories, but I won't have any nightmares either.

If Talbot can succeed behind the Wings' D and switch off with Lyon Eyes for combined .9+ numbers? Color me satisfied.

Reimer gets a lot of hate for a goalie with a .910 save % over 500 games in his career which is quite good.

I watched the games, the most swimming from a goalie I have ever seen. You cannot talk me into him being a good goalie.

Yeah, he received a lot of hate the moment he got signed.

If there's any reason for hating him, it's that the team would have made the playoffs if he hadn't ducked a couple of pucks. Remember this?

A SO win would have put the Wings in the playoffs.

dude, why'd you have to put it that way? Now it's even more painful and I hate Reimer with the fire of a thousand suns.

I mean, sorry... Let me get my statement together:

I have no hate in my heart for anyone and I have always tried to treat everyone I encounter with respect and kindness. In this specific instance I am choosing not to endorse something that is counter to my personal convictions, which is that a goalie should not duck out of the way of a puck headed towards his f***ing net.

Eat shit Reimer.

Does anyone know has Husso reported to Griffins or is he just still at Detroit?
IMO, He'll report, no one is crazy enough to leave 4 million plus on the table. I haven't read anything yet saying he's there but I've seen multiple places saying he's been assigned to report down after clearing.

I don't know, but I doubt this is just a paper transaction...It is a perfect opportunity for Husso to work through some kinks with the Goalie coach in GR...from memory, a real fine and well known Finnish coach .

Husso will eventually find his way back, might not be with the wings, I truly think he needs a little more than a traditional conditioning stint, he has played very little the past 1.5 years, his trade stock should go up if he gets back on track.

I can see this working well with Cossa and not greatly impacting his development, might even help it as he should have some push competition for starts.

Yeah, I think he is at least a better option for Griffs than Malcolm Subban.

And Koistinen (goalie coach) could rebound his career.

Tell me you haven't played goalie without telling me you haven't played goalie. He's not anticipating Stutzle is going to Steven Kwan that puck out of the air. I honestly don't have a problem with that goal at all, that's just a hell of a f***in play by a great young player.

Edit: He didn't duck the puck because he was scared. He lowered his head because the puck popped in the air and he made the wrong guess that it would hit the ground and Stutzle would try to jam it in low instead of a baseball swing.

There are so many reasons to dislike Reimer that are much more legitimate than this.
