Every year we hear every excuse in the book. The constant has been Rutherford. This is his team, and it has been for nearly two decades. 5 playoff appearances in 19 years. In any decently run franchise, that is nowhere near acceptable.

Its nowhere acceptable in a poorly run franchise.

Firing Muller won't do anything. The core of this team has been through multiple coaches without any signs of improvement.

If JR keeps passing the buck to the coach, that improvement will never come. The organization HAS to stick with a coach and say "This is our guy. Work with him or we'll find someone else who will".

So just keep him because of that?

This team makes me so god damn angry sometimes. I know it's just a game but **** I love this team to death, maybe a little more so than I should. The night we won the Cup and the two deep playoff runs we've had have been some of my best memories.

Unfortunately, they have done very little to excite me lately. Yet I keep coming back for more disappointment.

I pretty much agree with you. I think Muller blows harder than Staal does in October, but we can't keep firing coaches. Eventually we have to get rid of one of the losers, but we all know this won't happen.

We're stuck with the Staals.

IF Jordan doesnt turn in half his check this year, then he's a complete dick that did nothing to earn his paycheck. What a terrible performance by this guy. Sutter is making him look like the little ***** that he's playing like right now.

Le sigh.

Seriously, scratch the Staals. There are guys playing worse than they are, but if you do it, it'll send a giant shock through that locker room, and they need it.

Oh, and Semin is looking the like Russian who is milking his contract like every told us he would. What a waste of a signing that will turn out to be with the Staals still in charge of everything.

I don't think Muller is the problem. I also don't think it's the Staals. It's the fact that the players have no faith in Peters. Therefore they have little motivation and the offense has suffered.
