I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but the refs potentially blew a call on Monday night to cost a New England team a victory against a Carolina professional sports team. Today, the refs blow multiple calls to give a New England team a victory against a Carolina professional sports team.

Coincidence?

And after Gleason gets undressed he coasts behind the net leaving himself totally out of the play. Man he's awesome.

So Gleason gets undressed by 50 year old Iginla??

Really!

It actually would have been acceptable to get undressed, he simply got outskated. Yes. Outskated by Jarome Iginla. All 220 lbs. and 36 years old of him.

I..... don't even know. Skating has never been his strong suit but that play was just awful. Just plain terrible.

My take is this.... the Bruins have had the lowest number of PP chances in the league this year by a WIDE margin. The officials kind of keep track of this stuff and sometimes when a crew decides to put the whistles away against one team, games like this happen.

An alternate theory being that our first PPG was on a penalty drawn by Murphy for flopping and the officials decided to exact some sort of penalty against us for it for the remainder of the game. Either way it's odd but not entirely unexpected. Welcome to the "human element".

I came home and tuned in just in time to see Dwyer score and somehow assumed we would lose in OT.

Better than no points I guess.

Highly doubt we would have scored on the PP had we gotten one.

If anything we probably would have lost in the SO.

I say this every time, and every time I'm met with "but we got the point, aren't you happy"? But here it is again.

This is getting old. Eventually these awesome "score a late goal and fire the team up" games need to end in "scoring an OT goal and gain some momentum for the season", rather than "immediately losing in OT, but hey, we did well to get the point, right?"

82 OTLs gives this team 82 points on the year. And yeah, before the game, I'd have taken a point against the Bruins. But eventually you GET THERE. We were there, we scored late shorthanded, we took it to OT, the momentum should've been ours.

Granted, I didn't watch the game because of the stupid NHL and their stupid TV blackout issues. I will say that even from just watching the box score and reading stuff here, Gleason's going to be a healthy scratch sooner rather than later.

You would think this team would eventually put it together, but it's been years on end and it doesn't seem to be happening.

But when the team gets outplayed the way they did today, regardless of when they tied it, take the point and run.

Cam was the only reason the team got a point today.

You think I don't know that? I wasn't blaming him on the goal or the loss. Cam just overplayed the net and made a pretty good flop that was very leighton-esque.

Why do you always come out of the woodwork to defend Cam when someone makes even a slight negative remark about him?

I think the theory is you play as close to break even as you can against the top teams, and handle your business against the bottom teams.

That's a recipe for the playoffs, if executed.

Are you saying this ISN'T JR's fault, or that he won't think it's his fault? Because agreed if it's the later. If it's the former... oh lawd. The only two people this comes back to are JR and Karmanos, they're where the buck stops for this org.

We need to revamp our player development entirely (expand scouting and change coaching staffs at the AHL level) and to stop giving away bad contracts like candy, and then throwing in useful assets in order to get rid of said bad contracts.

I was inferring that JR wouldn't think it is his fault. I'm on my phone and was in a hurry, should've used the sarcasm smiley.

Well, as our schedule gets easier, we'll see if these jokers can actually beat the teams they're supposed to, unlike seasons past.

Won't disagree there at all. It's really past time for JR to step down. I know he brought the team and state a championship, but he's been as mediocre a manager as it gets recently. 5 playoff seasons in almost 2 decades is unacceptable for any GM.
