Thompson turned into a very good player. If the defenseman Johnson hits that will have turned out to be a pretty solid trade for Buffalo. Good for them. That fanbase deserves some good things. You never want to be known as a team (or GM) that rips off opposing teams. Tage was buried here, so win-win if he becomes a long-term piece. Makes up for the suckage of Millstadt & Nylander who were expected to be more than they are/were.

To be fair, Mittelstadt is only 23 and never got any time in the AHL.
