Does Brzustewicz have a shot at playing for the USA World Jr. Team?

Unfortunately, sometimes kids playing in the CHL get short shrift from USA Hockey, who gravitate towards players in the NCAA, USHL or the U.S. Hockey Development Program.

I think so. USA isn't set on D. But the contenders are kind of smallish Dmen though. But Brustewicz is thus far putting together a season that should put him in the conversation.

for those wondering, the last ohl dman to break 100 points was ryan ellis in 2011.

just 4 guys have broken 80 since then. mintyukov, deangelo and evan bouchard did it aged 19, and noel hoefenmeyer at 20.

interesting

why did the announcers say he'll be a hot commodity at the trade deadline?

is his team expected to miss the playoffs?
are they still rebuilding?

Likely sellers at the deadline, a hot start doesn’t really change that they aren’t really a top team that can go deep in the playoffs.

Brzustewicz is the most likely to go regardless, as he will fetch a haul and this is by most accounts his final year in the OHL, he is AHL eligible next season (correct me if i am wrong, he will be 20 before the Dec 31 cutoff). So it makes sense that they will try to get what they can for him.

If everything goes right we might have another Bobby Manno on our hands.
Haven’t seem him referenced in decades.

You could get away with this back then: he was switched to forward with the Red Wings and played on a line that was really effective for a short time (defensively). I forget who the other 2 guys were on the line, but they were dubbed the ‘Troll Line’ because of how ugly the 3 of them were, and their style of physical/annoying play.

Seattle has to be thrilled with their Carson Rehkopf pick (#50) at this point.

I wonder who is looking like the bigger driver on the team between Rehkopf and Hunter B?

Edit: Not sure why everything is bolded, but I can’t turn bold off!

Easily the worst guest on the Raw Knuckles podcast. Kept imitating Nilan’s accent, saying that nobody ever hurt him in a fight. He said he would easily be able to play today because he’d be one of the fastest players in the league. No humility to the man at all. Arrogant POS.
