Vitek let in some questionable goals yet again.

Tying goal was a nasty one.

You CAN go back to Akira. We SHOULD go back to him.

Vitek can play Saturday (or Sunday) in the back to back.

Schmid earned more of a leash before sucking on the second half of a back to back.

Vanecek is completely done here, and I don't think we're scoring 6 goals more often than not.

And he's rarely allowed fewer than 3 goals.

It's too much drama. He isn't done here yet.

One was deflected. One was mis coverage by mercer, one early in the game was a guy behind miller or Marino

Last one maybe saveable. Yeah rebounds are bad but not all these goals on him.

This is more of that kind of context that you can't glean from stats. Like why TF are guys making these unnecessary risky beer league decisions in their own zone with 15 minutes left and a three goal lead? Vets literally making the kind of "mistakes" you would expect from a rookie. Tons of lazy shit too where they get outworked. They swarm the puck yet it feels like they lose the vast majority of puck battles.

It's such junior level shit. It should be completely unacceptable at this level but game after game it just continues ho hum.

I rather they just air mail the puck out of the zone in these late game situations and risk the icing vs trying to be so fine and do a proper breakout.

There was a play where Jack picked up a Vitek rebound and just stood there looking to make a move right in front of the crease instead of just lifting the puck out.

I think his instinct is to just skate up ice, but he was trying to make the "smart" play and he couldn't figure out what it was.

He's not turning it around here. He's shown nothing that he's turning it around. In fact, he seems to get even worse every game.

Schmid was playing MUCH better than him anyway until that joke Sharks game on the second night in a row.

He did NOTHING to deserve the next game. He didn't do anything to deserve this game other than Schmid being awful on the second night of a back to back.

You kind of have to play the better goalie right now if you want momentum. Vanecek is not the better goalie here. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be the better goalie here this year than even Blackwood.

And I don't think Blackwood is better than him, that's just how done and spent he is here.

I don't know how some of you have any confidence in him at all.

Tbh, we don't necessarily agree on the D/Goalie ratio, but I agree with your point. I don't care why it's happening. There's no reason for this to even get tied with a 5-2 lead after the 3rd.
