How would you feel if Brown was traded?

Not by any mean do I feel this will or should happen, but if DL can't come to an agreement with Brown and feels it is best to trade him.

Kinda of a different question could you see Brown leaving as a free agent?

Honestly? I wouldn't be all that crushed. I've never been a huge Brown fan. Love what he did for us winning the cup and the guy he is off the ice is amazing but if we can't re-sign him, get assets for him. It wouldn't be too far fetched to see 3 Russian LWers for us in the future. Zykov-Prokhorkin-Kitsyn. In that order.

Actually, from what I hear, this is not going to be an issue re-signing him. All indications are that the cap will be going up next season, and we will be able to afford him.

The guy is a true leader "in the room." Gotta keep him.

Yeah I don't think we'll have an issue. But if it happens, it happens.

Also, your signature is worse that Razzie's bug avatar.

I would be pissed. Trading a player who signed a sweetheart deal for a long period is so Philly-like. His play personifies Kings hockey. Brown isn't going to ask for the moon either, it's not in his make-up. There is zero reason for him to be traded.

I try not to get attached to players. I wouldn't be happy about it though. It would be like up and trading Dave Taylor or something. He's a King for the long haul and has given everything to the organization. He is the perfect role model for this team. I don't think you can really put a price on that, and I am sure Dean feels similarly. Dean would if he had to, but for now he doesn't want to consider putting a price on his #1 character guy.

I guess it depends on the return, but how many players like Brown are out there? The Kings aren't going to let go of their modern day version of Dave Taylor.

Yea but I think Philly was saying the same about Richards

I would be so pissed that I would pee in the gas tank of Face Wash's Le Car

Brown wants a be a king. Dean wants brown to be a king.
If a guy like clarkson gets 5.25. What is brown worth.

I'd be very upset. This guy should retire a King. The only way Brown leaves imo is if he decides it's best for his family to be back near home in NY.

I think if DB drops trou, the Kings tatt is there. I believe he will sign.

Hypothetically though if something drastic happens, like the cap falls again somehow, and Brown is dealt for young players and assets, who gets the C?

Greene, if he is extended, otherwise maybe Richards?

They had no credibility at that time, just as their were really no expectations for the team.

True, plus back then Dave Taylor was micromanaged by the dufus team of Tim Leiweke and Kevin Gilmore, who handled all budgetary and contract issues relating to the Kings. They screwed the team over in contract talks with Blake and did the same with Luc (and a year later with Philippe Boucher).
