Like the NBA, the NHL is apparently asking it’s clubs to look into arena availability in to July.

The NCAA just canceled March Madness and all games in other spring sports.

Probably right. There's only about 1600 cases in the US right now, and the number of cases will multiply in the next few weeks.
If lucky, the number of new cases will start to decrease, but even then how do you determine when it's "safe" to resume the season?
Unless they just decide screw it and resume anyways, which just defeats the whole purpose of suspending the season to begin with.

Woj who’s the McKenzie, Dreger and everyone else reputable in hockey into 1 person for NBA , said it’s possible that once they resume the season that they might just go strate into the playoffs which means it would be a shortened season . They can do this in the NHL too which might be a good thing for us considering we were winning all our games lol . Or they might extend the season into the summer And guessing playoffs will be played into like August. Not sure if it would effect the start of next season doubt it might just be a shortened off season .

This is actually the best thing that could have happened to the Kings seeing how if we finished the season we would have won like 20 straight and ended up with like the #15 pick. This keeps them low enough to still get a top 5 pick and we end the season on a winning streak that will bring confidence into next season.

There are 1600 confirmed cases, but that number is insanely low. The Gov of Ohio just said they think over 100k people in their state have it but they have confirmed less than 10.
It's going to get way worse before it gets better. I think NHL would be very very happy if they could start playoffs on May 1st.

The total number of deaths is still around 40 people I believe. Out of the 40 deaths, 19 were of elderly people in a single nursing home in Seattle.
I think a far better solution is for those who are at risk (the elderly and those with compromised immune systems) to isolate themselves and impose a self quarantine. People will say, "Well someone much younger and in good health could give it to their grandparents." Understand what isolation and quarantine means, it means you don't go see your grandparents. You do their shopping for them and drop the stuff off at the front door. Then you call them and talk to them. It sucks, but it is only for a short time. Far better than shutting down and entire society and destroying the economy. The virus is here. Thousands of people have already contracted it without even having symptoms.
I know people born and raised here.. and are 5th generation annnnnd still have a shitty accent..

No, there are likely close to a million cases in America right now. Ohio public health officials are estimating 100,000 in their state alone.
We have performed an embarrassingly low 12,000 tests total in the entire country over the past three weeks. South Korea is testing 10,000 per DAY.
People are contagious sometimes 48 hours before they show symptoms. This is why we haven’t been able to contain this pathogen in any country anywhere in the world. The number of real cases will continue to grow exponentially every day (100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200, 6400, 12800...) until healthcare infrastructure becomes completely overwhelmed.
We should have cancelled everything everywhere a week ago, but that would have required actual foresight from our elected officials. Regardless, we can still enact strict quarantines right now to flatten the curve.
It will murder the economy, but that’s far preferable to the total collapse of the American healthcare system, which WILL happen if we do not flatten the curve.
