Great culture!

Yeah I really don't like the language that they're throwing around. I get it - it's one thing to be positive. But you can't keep acting like the only thing preventing you from winning virtually every game is one lucky bounce. The team gets caved in for long stretches and stops playing completely.

This is the year they're supposed to be right in the hunt for the playoffs and we're talking about being 2nd last in the conference but taking "steps in the right direction" after losing to Columbus??? lol

Winners would think putting themselves in a position where an unlucky bounce could mean a loss is not acceptable, but they'd rather make excuses.

What more do Staios and Andlauer need to see?

5 years of failure + 5-9 in the last 14 games, with the last two wins being extremely unconvincing (blew the lead against Detroit and had to go to a shootout against Minnesota).

DJ being the 6th longest tenured coach is a disgrace.

I suppose it's hard for him to preach accountability to the players when a healthy organization would have fired him years ago.

Quite honestly if they throw this season away I will think Ill of them. They could have saved this season with a coaching change and at least made us respectable hopefully we squeeek into a spot. But if they sit back and watch us implode. I’ll seriously question them. Which means nothing. But

Maybe I'm just fed up but I feel like this coaching staff is going full steam ahead into "ruin a bunch of young players career" territory.

Jake Sanderson has never had another professional coach.

Tim Stützle has never played for any other coach in North America.

Guys like Norris and Batherson come up from the AHL (obviously under another coach) and look f***ing fantastic. Fast forward a few years under DJ and they look listless, lost and drained of the hockey IQ that was promising when they got here.

GET HIM OUT!

“The Ottawa Senators are extremely proud to introduce as our new interim head coach, hockey hall of famer, Daniel Alfredsson. Daniel brings a wealth of NHL experience as a player and an undefeated NHL coaching record, and we are confident this will translate into future success as we continue to build a best-in-class organization”.

A guy who has zero coaching experience at any level. I'm sorry, but no. Terrible idea. Not to mention how awkward it will be to fire/dismiss the guy in a few seasons.

If it goes one more day without the news that DJ has been fired.... I'll go crazy! ( to be read with Pierre Dorions voice)

I have not posted here in years. Just a lurker, mostly because I have no insightful hockey IQ like you lads.

One thing I’m fairly successful at is running a business. I’m convinced DJ was fired some time ago. You can’t just fire a manger the team loves. They’ve likely been trying for some time to find the right leadership to immediately change the dynamics of the team.

In the end, this is a business that has maxed out its budget yet is failing. Ownership has two options. My guess it’s the coach and likely soon

At this point I think even DJ wants this to end. Listening to him he knows the team has quit and there is nothing he can do about it.

It’s too late
Keep him and laugh all season
See how deep in the standings we can go

I want Silayev

D.J. Was like “we did enough to win the game” - is he on drugs?
