Man to have standards in an organization. What a concept.
So you’re crapping on Andlauer and Staios, for record, right?
Man to have standards in an organization. What a concept.
You're the one who wants this organization to keep losing.
Get over it. The Melnyk days are over. Andlauer and Staios know how to run an organization. They'll do this properly. They'll find a GM first, then allow him to select his coach.
The knee jerk reaction stuff you're proposing is over. We don't do that anymore.
My god, I'm happy it isn't just me. Insufferable. This includes SensChirp

I don't think it's about their stats but they don't seem to be able to handle pressure or being patient when they fall behind. Too many on this team are injury prone which could explain being "soft". Also, are any of our young players clutch players? If you think that by changing coach this team will transformed into a playoff caliber team you are fooling yourselves. This team is way to soft, they only care about their own personal stats. The next coach has a lot of work to do before those guys are ready to compete for a playoff spots.
So you’ll crap on just about everyone, eh?crapping on both regimes, but more understanding of the reasons and justifications that the current regime/owner is giving.
I hope you’re okay, and this didn’t insult you too much. I know how much in bed and protective you get with these billionaire owners.
Yeah it's unfortunate because he was probably the best Sens blogger for the greater part of a decadeMy god, I'm happy it isn't just me. Insufferable.
The same players get hurt because they are over played. They also have a lot of bad habits: poor passing, shooting puck in so hard, it comes right out, rushing the net so not in position to get the pass or shoot the puck, fly bys, too many one and dones as our players are rarely in position to get the rebounds or retrieve the puck in the Ozone. Many of them have a lot of work to do to play a puck possession game.
One thing I've noticed recently is they seem to be trying to play defensive hockey but many times they look indecisive: trying to decide what they should do, where they should be. I think this is the result of allowing them to do what they wanted for such a long time instead of having them play defensive style hockey from the get go. Another concern is when Chabot comes back, will they go back to playing run and gun?

lmao yes, the Sens canning DJ with his incredible record would be the most puzzling move in hockey history! Nobody ever fires their coach.Everyone is universally mocking the Oilers for canning Woodcroft.
Is that what we really want here?
Yes, yes it is..Everyone is universally mocking the Oilers for canning Woodcroft.

They also won Woodcrofts last game.Oilers fire coach, then they win a game.
Science.
So the pool of coaches available at this point of the season is pretty shallow…. Everyone knows the pool gets deeper as teams get eliminated from the playoffs and into the offseason. We could get an interim coach.
That would allow Staois to continue the search for the new GM. The GM could then decide to hire someone he likes, or remove the interim tag. Its happened before and is not unprecedented.
Not advocating this particularly, just that there's a narrative floating around from some people that this who coach process can ONLY happen after the new GM is hired and the Senators hands are tied as a result.
If they want to try to salvage the season, that's a potential rationale for hiring an interim coach. Could make a difference in attendance & revenue. So the pool of coaches available at this point of the season is pretty shallow…. So who is available right now, that would be a measurable upgrade on DJS, and who also accept the job knowing that they could be dismissed at anytime after new GM is in place? The pool gets shallower.
DJS is in his year of his current contract (team was an option for another season aI think)… so he is pretty much the interim coach now, and is keeping him until he can be properly replaced by a new GM, any better or worse than kicking him to the curb, bringing in someone who most likely is going to be replaced (at anytime) plus the disruption in the locker room?
I suggest, that unless the bottom of the team falls out, in the long run, replacing DJS, with a stop gap, is not worth it.

Quenneville is a no fly zone, besides if we hired him we would punished with the loss of a 1st round pick for his role in the Blackhawks scandal/coverup.I don’t understand the pool of candidates argument.
There are probably a half dozen Jack Adams award winners currently available to hire.
Maybe an older guy like Jacques Martin or Claude Julien would be interested in the job knowing they’re not committing long term to see if they’ve still got the juice.
Maybe Patrick Roy would be willing to bet on his ability to keep the job given his knowledge of Andlauer.
Maybe Gallant is willing to bet he can turn the team around and get and extension.
Maybe Bob Hartley or Alain Vigneault are willing to take a shorter term deal to show they’ve still got it at this level.
Maybe Joel Quenneville is willing to take this kind of opportunity to show how he can do things differently.
Is it the peak time for candidates? No, but there are certainly many very good options available.

Quenneville is suspendedSure, obviously the sens would have to think long and hard before hiring him.
For all we know, maybe having a member of the old boys club on board might have brought a lower penalty.
