Last night the Leafs won a playoff series for the first time in 19 years.

This is year 7 of this core.

Both Kyle Dubas and Sheldon Keefe have been in the organisation since 2015

Shanny was hired in 2014.

And Dubas has been GM since 2018.

This management team has been together a long time.

They FINALLY broke through.

Two, or possibly three. Seems simple enough to not renew the contract of Dubas in the event of another early exit. Owing to that, I likely wouldn't have expected Keefe to remain as coach under an incoming GM. Shanahan potentially stays due to the remaining term on his contract.

Should be none but now you understand why Dubas and Keefe acted giddy like they won the Stanley Cup.

Ask me after round #2.

All of them.

Dubas wasnt going to get his contract renewed unless they advanced beyond the first round.
So MLSE is happy with Participation Ribbons? Kewl.

If they get swept in r2 is keefe safe

I think he road back to the NHL would have been a long one for Keefe had he lost this round. Still up in there depending on how the next round goes.

The front office likely secured their extension last night.

What will be up for grabs for the rest of the playoffs will be how much leverage Dubas or the board has when setting terms. That likely is determined by how deep the Leafs go

I don't care what happens from here, Keefe has to go.

Shanahan isn't going anywhere, and the only way I see Dubas going is if he asks too much money or he doesn't want to re-sign.

Keefe absolutely needs to get a "promotion" coaching the Coyotes. He isn't who we need behind the bench.

Dubas - but not for the reasons most would think.

I think that win will impact Matthews’ contract situation in a positive way.

This core has never seen what they saw last night. They’ve never seen us celebrate a series win.

There’s nothing in Toronto like the Leafs winning in the playoffs. You can pretend, but there’s nothing like it.

Add a few more series wins and these guys will sign, for sure.

The only job lost so far should be Justin Holl's. IF Keefe puts Holl back in and they get blown out in Round 2, Keefe should go with Holl! Bunting may have already lost his job for next year. I'd rather see his money go to keeping O'Rielly and Schenn.

I don't think that though I admit the possibility.

I don't know how their jobs couldn't have been on the line, and might still be, although I'm less sure of that now, because they have broken through.

But seeing as neither have a contract beyond this year I'm not sure how their jobs weren't on the line

They could choose to leave.
