I expect some of you to say none because nobody should be fired and/or traded when the team puts up 115 points in the regular season which is a franchise record

they won 54 games that's a franchise record.

and you'd be right those things are true and part of me would agree nobody should be fired or traded after setting franchise records.

But on the other hand how many more 1st round exits are acceptable before all those franchise record in points and wins as great as they are do not matter?

I wouldn't touch the core I would target the goaltending because I don't think Jack has been great this series.

I think they need a legitimate #1 and I would give Kyle another shot with the prevision that he go out and get a legitimate #1.

but I am not sure Dubas's Job is not on the line Saturday.

I'm not sure Keefe's job is not on the line Saturday because if Dubas is gone the new guy might want his own coach.

I don't think Shanny's job is on the line Saturday but I'm not even sure about that.

I think Nylander's job is on the line Saturday and I'm not sure that's fair but I'm also not sure it's not because as I said before how many more 1st round losses are acceptable?

so I ask again how many jobs are on the line Saturday?

Players dont got much to worry about. their careers will go on if thats in Toronto or somewhere else they will play
at this point is should be about putting this 1st round curse behind them. time to shut up all the nay sayers but do they have what it takes?
I feel like Ive got no confidence in a Game 7 win but hopefully home ice makes a difference this year with fans pumping them up

time to get over those jitters and deliver
you can get swept in 2nd round for all I care.
seeing a single series win after 18 long years will be such a huge breath of free air for this long suffering fanbase

During the off-season I would have said Shanahan, Dubas and assistants, Keefe and assistants. In other words, clean house.

As the season wore on, I feel Shanahan and Dubas will be given the opportunity to change the core, something they have not done yet. If they refuse, I think he is shown the door, but I think he knows this is the only way forward.

So, other than the odd assistant (GM or coach), I figure they are all back. Rightly or wrongly.

Out of curiosity (as I'm not a Leafs fan): if there is a consensus here that there are jobs are on the line for Round 1 - Game 7, what would happen if the Leafs lost Round 2? Same thing or more leeway?

I was firm that this was a last chance season here. I don't know now. Blowing it up might be a big mistake, grass isn't always greener etc. Let's discuss after we see what happens Saturday.

if they went to game of round 2 or if they lost in round 2 in general?

because getting swept in round 2 or losing in game 7 of round 2 lead to 2 different answers.

getting swept in round 2? Dubas and Keefe might still get fired.

losing in game 7 in round 2 Dubas and Keefe are probably back, maybe the entire core too but I would hope Campbell is still gone and a legitimate starter is brought in.

None whatsoever. Leafs could lose 10-0 on Saturday and at most an assistant coach will get fired. No matter what happens this season it couldnt possibly be viewed worse than what happened against the Habs and no one was fired.

If they lose, pay close attention to how quickly Friedman, Mirtle, Seigel, etc spring into action to defend Dubas and everything hes done to date. Any talk of trading the big four will be ridiculed and suppressed. After fans vent for a month, they'll move on to the draft/free agency and bury any pissed off fans. A comment heard from the media often throughout this season: "Ohhh Leafs fans will be back watching game #1".

This is what happens when Rogers/Sportsnet and Bell/TSN owns 80%. No media left to represent the voices of frustrated fans.

I don’t think so but Leafs only have 2 more years of Matthews before he joins Keller in Arizona

Time running out

Keefe will be gone...thank you. He sucks and has worse game management for all coaches in the NHL.

I hope Dubas gets canned to. The player agents bent him over.

This whole Matthews going to Arizona is just a joke and a meme right? Even if he really wanted to leave I can't imagine that he'd go to the Yotes where its going to be a bottom team for many years and he's playing in front of fans that only mildly care about the NHL.

I've said it before and I'll say it again that as long as the Leafs are willing to pay him, he will stay. He's playing in perhaps the most passionate hockey market in the NHL with his best buddy Marner as his linemate and on a team that will be competing for many years to come. Why in the world would anyone give up all that just to play in their hometown? You'd have to be insane to do that.

As for anyone's jobs being on the line, I will be pissed if Dubas ever goes. He's easily the Leafs best GM in at least the last 20-30 years and its hard to look back at all his moves and see many bad decisions that he's made in comparison to previous Leafs GM. Playoff hockey is almost always a crapshoot and I don't know how you can fault him for the team's performance that was within a few centimeters of going on to the second round.

Dubas has done all he can to build a really good team and sometimes things just don't bounce your way as we saw tonight. Win or lose I hope he stays and continues to make this team as good as he can and I really don't think there's another GM candidate out there that can do a better job than he has in the past few years to get the Leafs and their prospect pool going in the right direction.

Please Leafs just win on Saturday so that we can put this who might lose their job discussion to a rest.

I doubt it's Marner I think it's Nylander you don't break up Marner and Matthews
Marner isn't built for prime time. Ignore that one end of shift lazy play by Willy (not like it resulted in a goal against and everyone on the team was ass that game), and he's basically put the team scoring on his back down the stretch in this series. Leafs will regret trading Nylander for years after he's gone if they make the biased move sticking with Mitch Houdini the hometown disappearing act in the playoffs.

Marner has been great this series he has 7b points this series, this isn't on him.

Not saying it's on Nylander either it's notm all the big boys have actually produced this time that's why I said in the OP I wouldn't touch the core, I'd touch the goaltending becaise Jack has an under 900 save% to me that's the issue, to me they need a legitimate #1

Keefe for sure, more successful coaches than him get fired all the time. Trotz among other good coaches are looking for a job.

Campbell gone, i'd call it a job on the line because he won't have a starting job anywhere decent if he plays poorly in game 7.

No chance Matthews goes to play in a 5000 seat rink with Clayton Keller lmao

Yea, I’m with you. My love for the game/team is really dying. I’m not even mad at Tampa, they are a great team. Those penalties in such a crucial game really soured my interest. If the Oilers lose, I’ll be a little be happier.
