So much depends on his usage. Only 13 players had 30+ goals at even strength last year, so he has little chance of hitting 30 unless he gets significant PP time.

54 players scored 30 or more goals. Of those 54 players, every one had more TOI than Kakko, and only 5 were within 2 minutes of his TOI. Every one of those 54 players had at least 5 goals on the PP.

If Kakko gets 5+ goals on the PP and another 2 minutes TOI over all, then yeah, 30 goals is a possibility. He has never had more than 2 goals on the PP, but he did have 13 PP points as a rookie. If he had that production last year, he would have had 50 points.

Kakko will breakout this season, he’ll force Lav to put him on the top line and PP quickly.

30 if he stays healthy, gets lots of PP time and sticks on the first line. Otherwise, we're likely looking at 20 with a 50 point season. He's already 22. I don't see much more growth at this point (unless the prior coaches were just that detrimental to his production).

For an initial breakout year I'd hope for at least a 20-40. He had a 30 game stretch last year at that pace, just needs to keep it up for the whole year.

He also needs to start hot to have any chance of a breakout. He's yet to get more then 3 points in his first 10 games, which gets him demoted and reduced ice time. Much of his issue is consistency on the scoresheet, he has had multiple stretches of 9 points in 10 games followed by 1 or 2 points in the next 10.

Not sure he will ever be a big goal scorer as an NHLer, so I think mid 20s or so would be great. I hope I'm wrong and he becomes a real force at driving to the net and he scores a ton around the crease.

It's very hard to score consistently without consistent PP time.

Last year, Mika had 12 points in his first 10 games, but he was scoreless in 5 of those games.

8 of those 12 points came on the PP and 1 on the PK. So over those first 10 games, both Mika and Kakko had the same number of EV points.

I think the cap for Kakko would be around 35, even in a few years when hes fully developed.

Although with assists given the right usage and PP time he could push 60-70 points.

With 3rd assists you are looking at McDavid territory. Must have counted 15-20 last year. But thats his game. He's a chance setter. If he begins to finish his own chances he should top out past 20 this year

If Frolov was able to score 30, Kakko should too in this high scoring era. On the offensive side of the puck they have a lot of stylistic similarities.

I've accepted that Kakko isn't going to get the lion's share of powerplay time on this roster and I would be very happy with 25 and 25.

It's not about having totals that jump off the page. Even in this high-scoring era, ~50 even strength points is still a very good player in this league.

I just want him to consistently have some nuts offensively and not have plays die on his stick because he can't make heads or tails of what he wants to do.

He was much quicker to react last night and just getting that shot on net on his goal was a very good sign.
