On pace for 21 goals and 62 points in 82 games. May have been expecting too much, he needs time to develop. Still think he's a 100 point player, but it may be a couple years out.

All the comments pre-draft about him threatening for best goal scorer in the NHL so quickly are starting to look really silly.

Theres a massive difference between scoring goals on junior goalies and the goalies in the NHL. Bedard is not easily able to get to prime scoring areas in the NHL compared to junior. Hes going to be an exceptional player, but not the next goal scoring phenom like Matthews. Incredible shot doesnt automatically translate into top nhl goal scorer.

Too small, as you say. Matthews was a grown man when he entered the league. Could get to where he wants on the ice. McDavid could get where he wants because of his skating, and he was also just physically taller.

Bedard will probably breakout soon. It’ll be like Hughes where eventually he’s able to do the things he wants out there on the ice, but that likely won’t be until he can physically withstand the NHL. Right now he’s too much of a 19 year old boy for that yet.

Bedard’s ceiling is better shooting Patrick Kane. True or false ?

A few hours later and he's pacing for 76 points.

Can we just let the kid play for a while without trying to project stats when one 3-pt game makes such a difference so early in the season?
