It'll eventually get replaced with something fresh and new, but for now it's ridiculous and the novelty hasn't worn off on me yet.

Freaking wild, but I think Nate can actually pull the look off.

Are other teams doing it? I would say it is forced if Avs are one of the first.

If you still don't like it, we could potentially sub it for Howler's helmet?
Avs are a couple years behind the trend and are the only ones doing it now.

(which there is a joke somewhere about Landy's idea and... well... you know...)

They said the big hat was Landy’s idea. I guess he’s preparing to go into hat business since he can’t play hockey anymore:sarcasm:

They used to do the chain with the big Avs logo on it for the "player of the game" or whatever. And that was fine, but this just feels like they were trying to hard to be original and quirky.

As you can imagine from my name, I have in fact own and worn more than a few big hats. But jesus, not one of them had something going on like this.

I get that folks think it's cheesy. I mean...it is. But Gabe's the one that started it and I'll be damned if it just doesn't stink of good leadership. It does two things simultaneously...acknowledges a player for their contributions towards the night and keeps them from getting too big of a head about it...or at leasts attempts to mask the fact that it's happened.

Exactly.

It's such a Gabe thing and he's managed to inject some super positive vibes in the room while not being in the room. Perfect.

Like, we all know you're not fitting 10 gallons into that thing. What gives?
