Just 1 goal in his last 10 games. Still hoping for Matthews to keep the 34 goal streak alive as only Gretzky and Bossy have been able to start their careers by putting up at least 34 goals for 9 straight seasons. Would be special for Matthews to be able to join them.

Depends how low we’re talking.

People call Eichel & Barkov elite now for scoring 20 goals - so naturally you’d think yes. A ‘low’ year for Matthews is mid 30’s - which is a great year for most other players in the league.

If he shows up big time in a Cup win that’s all that matters at this point. Tons of players aren’t worth their money, much more so than this board goes on about Matthews.
