Be thankful the usual suspects have gone into hiding/hibernation. Just wait until they start off next season with a few wins. Rinse and repeat.

The annual tradition.

I wish I was could be that shameless, and I say it's shameless because it's clear such people aren't interested in learning any lessons from constantly being wrong.

I guess you gotta keep "running it back" with the same spiel in hopes that one day you're not completely dead wrong about everything...

I get everyone wants their pound of flesh. But I completely disagree with the overwhelming sentiment. He has assembled teams good enough to win each year. team hasn’t gotten it done. But he keeps evolving and getting better. if they barely made the playoffs or were getting swept each year fine. But emotional decisions are rarely the right one.
I’m confused, if the teams hasn’t got it done how does that show that they are good enough to get it done

Did you miss the raptors trading one of their best players for another good player only to win the championship?

Yes I am willing to trade either.

Also, players have been traded with nmc in the past.

There seems to be some myth among the dubas cult that we can't trade any of our "core".

The NHL is a results oriented business. No one is un tradeable if you can improve your team.

Then we are in agreement.

I am willing to trade anyone, but there is a brigade here that put the players above the team.

Yes, for me Keon and Horton are extremely high in my memory, but pale in comparison to the Cups.

It wasn't until the Jays traded Fernandez and McGriff for Alomar and Carter that they were able to get to the WS.

Hard to deal any of the 3 amigos but if I can get a king's ransom for each of them, I'd be tempted to take a step back in order to potentially take two forward. I just do not want Dubas making the deals.

If we are here one year from now after another first round loss and Matty won't sign, the new GM should start selling.

Agreed.

If these players fail yet again, they are very obviously a huge / mostly reason why.

Yeah, at that point the other usual suspects will go into hiding.

Nothing springs eternal hope here quite like beating down the cellar dwellers of the NHL in the regular season.

Others have higher standards for this team, such as winning a single playoff round against an opponent of any difficulty.

Try to keep this in mind, going forward.

I think they are already the reason and yet we are going to waste another year with the current mix

Yeah, I am one of the people who have high standards. I want the Leafs to win a Cup. You can be satisfied with the first round, but I am not. You should keep that in mind. I am not going to keep your first round mantra in mind.

Sounds like you should vote for the last option.

You would think leaf fans wouldn't want to waste any more years of this core.

Every year we lose in the first round is another year gone.

Yet so many are fine keeping the same gm despite failure after failure after failure after failure.
I saw a very good team lose to a great team. By most reasonable metrics we are a top 5 team. To get from where we are to where Tampa is is a matter of inches. I'm not eager to dump the guys who got us here. Change for the sake of change because we didn't get a goal in game 6's overtime seems too reactionary to me. It took Ovechkin awhile to win a Cup, it's the hardest trophy in sports.

I understand the frustration of many and I will understand some calls for change but I saw a step forward despite the loss, We don't all see things the same way but we all want the same thing.

It's more productive to worry about Dubas's job next year when we have more data rather than trying to find the right "what if" to make me feel bad. I'd rather worry about a real problem like our goaltending.

We all want them to win the cup but you don’t go from zero to the cup all at once, it starts with winning a round

Name a Cup winner in the salary cap era who hasn't won a single round in the preceding, let's say, 3 years prior...

You can't.

And if you had high standards, you wouldn't constantly be shilling a management group who has consistently failed to deliver anything close to a Cup win.

They've gone no further than they have in 2017.

More like Dubas Fans :laugh::laugh:

However I doubt we can upgrade the goaltending with the way Dubas has allocated the cap. there is simply not enough money left and even if he funneled more money to the goaltending issue it would come at the expense of our already sub standard bottom 6.
Dubas has put this team in a serious hard spot with the Tavares contract

The only reason I can't is because it hasn't happened yet. I am not constantly shilling fir anyone. I like the management team, but if they changed tomorrow, it wouldn't affect me one bit. Like I said earlier, if you think a round is good enough, that is up to you. I don't.

Then you must not be aware you have to win 4 rounds to win a Cup.

The Leafs haven't been able to get ONE under Dubas' many years here.

Name a team that hasn't won ONE single playoff series in 3 years preceding it but has gone on to win a Cup the next year.

I think with Mrazek's 3.8 and Campbell's 1.65 (5.45 mil) we'll be fine. That's only a mil short of the highest Kuemper guess I've seen. This is not our usual tight Cap summer with guys like Holl and Kerfoot very probably moved. We have more flexibility than usual.

That will be ignored, I'm sure.

Cheeky, deflective comments seem to be the only thing you get out of Dubas Fans.
Not ignored by me obviously. I know how the tournament works.
I have never made cheeky deflective comments. I stand up to the chronic whiners though. With their repetitive nonsense speak though.

Four first round losses under him, three consecutive as a favorite with home ice advantage. Has pissed away countless draft picks the last few years with nothing to show for it at the end of the day. Team is in perpetual cap hell. Goaltending has been a constant concern under him.

Yeah, if he was fired yesterday it wouldn't have been soon enough.

Ok we'll settle for the final next year and the Cup the next if that will make you happier.
