How in the world did Reinhart not get recognized as MVP/top forward?

He was seen plenty. Domi was just a bit better. It isn't overly complicated. Domi created a ton of chances all by himself.

Reinhart was hands down best forward in the tournament. Tied for the tournament lead in scoring, best defensive forward, best penalty killer and one of top faceoff guys.

Anyone arguing otherwise either has a bias or gets blinded by flashy things.

That said, Domi was fantastic as well as Duclair, McDavid, Lazar and Petan.

Domi got more hype, but yes Reinhart was better. Not receiving the top forward award was not any kind of travesty though.

He was my pick too, but there were so many great performers that it's tough. I knew Reinhart was good before this, but now my opinion of him took another huge leap.

Reinhart was more useful/effective, but Domi was more visible. The bigger question is how Nurse got awarded after showing some pretty horrible hockey, although pretty much all of the d-men were "meh" the entire tournament. It's a good thing they didn't have to be anything more than mediocre for the stretch run.

The fans wanted Domi and he is a flashy spotlight grabbing player. Meanwhile Reinhart did absolutely everything right and you have to really watch him to appreciate how fantastic he really is, and see all the brilliant small plays he makes each shift. Domi was awesome i don't think its a mistake to pick him by any means, i just personally thing Reinhart contributed more overall to Canada winning.

I also thought Theodore was quietly better then Nurse, and was excellent all tournament. I am a Ducks fan though so maybe a little bias. Nurse was awesome in the 3rd though.

It's pretty simple, he's not a guy you notice as much a domi. He won't get as much recognition. He does a hundred little things during the game that are just so subtle and precise. They add up to being the MVP, but you can't expect everybody to see it and fully appreciate it. It's fitting that his linemate won it, he elevates everyone around him.

That being said, who cares? Domi had an awesome tourney and was the hometown kid.

Reinhart was unbelievable but domi was too. We don't need to take anything away from what he did. Could've flipped a coin in my opinion.

Not as good as Domi. Pretty simple.

uh huh.

Reinhart just isn't flashy. Domi is speedy as **** and dangles a lot. It takes a fine appreciation to truly rate Reinhart. Either way both were great and WJC MVP is kinda irrelevant. Although I still believe Reinhart was better.

Reinhart reminds me just like Toews, so damn jealous of Buffalo.

Reinhart > Domi. I don't know how anyone can not agree to that.. seriously.

He only got it because of the whole Toronto / Fan Favorite / Flashy player jazz.

Domi played well, but I was surprised Reinhart didn't get it.

If the coaches voted for the award Reinhart would have won it. Just an all round great performance throughout the tourney and one of the best we've seen in a gold medal game. He was a beast at both ends of the ice.

Wasn't on the ice for an ES goal while physically beating the other teams top lines to death might have something to do with it. He didn't get points but he wasn't on any powerplays if thats how you judge a defensemen.
