How Has Holloway Looked SO Far

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Seems like is fitting in well with the Blues and has been on a bit of a scoring streak lately. What kind of player do you think Holloway becomes? How many points do you think he gets this year?
Holloway has been a revelation this season. Blues added a young top 6 forward with great upside, that fits in with our group seamlessly.

The Offer Sheets to him and Broberg have sped up our rebuild by an entire season. That is huge for a small/mid sized market like ours. Missing out on any playoff revenue is something this franchise wants to avoid.

no but "we todd id" is apparently, even though it's a word that has multiple uses but moron that is ONLY a slur is fine to post.

You're correct, so the edmonton oilers can all eat out of the same bag of dicks.

Maybe just stop using the word. <shrug>. You keep saying that there is an acceptable way to use the word, but that’s never the way you’re using it.

It absolutely is.

Not when you use it like the last few times you've used that word the way you have. Same as the British slang word that was used for "cigarette" has been altered over time into a slur, so has the word you used been used as a slur. It's not okay, even if there are other applications: there are so many better words that have been invented by the English language to use. You can even say things like "idiotic", "stupid", or "moronic" and it would make your point in the exact same way.

This coming from someone who is affected by that word, given that I have autism and have been discriminated against, bullied, and have been denied employment for the "crime" of having it.

It's illegal to be denied employment due to autism so if that's true, congratulations on being rich from the lawsuit. Also, sticks and stones etc.

For various reasons - mostly because I couldn’t prove they were discriminatory, but also because I was technically probation employed (The people responsible for hiring me out were for disabled people. The higher ups in the company had promised me employment after a month if the manager recommended me - which he did. They said I needed to wait another month, and this repeated for a year until they finally said they were never going to hire me, but I could continue working on a volunteer basis.) and couldn’t argue in court, especially after I went into psych immediately after the bombshell - I am not rich from a lawsuit.

Just because laws say people can’t discriminate with employment doesn’t mean that some companies won’t.

It's been his nickname long before he came here.

It's a dumb nickname but unavoidable considering his name. Just like anyone named Jake becomes Jake the Snake by default.

With the hot start Broberg had, who could have predicted that Holloway would actually have the better season in the end? I don't think even his biggest supporters would have predicted this.

aren’t all the Jake’s now Jake from State Farm?

51 points in 51 games is well beyond anyone’s expectations. Acquiring Broberg + Holloway is just crazy for what the Blues had to give up. A 2025 2nd & 3rd, plus Paul Fischer, & 2028 3rd.

Holloway and Broberg have helped save this season. Both have made the mistakes of younger players on occasion, but I'm glad Monty's just letting them play without any fear of jerking them around. Even Bolduc, after so many healthy scratches that I was certain he pissed in Monty's Lucky Charms, has looked incredible in his games played.

Despite this season exceeding even my wildest expectations, I still view it as transitional. We've let kids like Holloway, Broberg, Bolduc, Neighbours (and let's add Tyler Tucker to the list as well; for a seventh round CHL pick, he's basically won the lottery by being our third pairing defenseman) play their games with a breath of fresh air. I hope we do the same with Dvorsky and eventually Snuggerud when he comes up.

And that's helped Thomas and Kyrou, getting talent that we didn't have last year on this team for very little, and cutting bait when we've needed to cut bait (coughHayescough).

And that falls on coaching and management. I expect Steen to have learned a lot from Army, who is honestly a HOF executive, in my eyes. Monty has been incredible, an absolute revelation, and he's signed for four more years after this.

This is a very f***ing good time to be a Blues fan, and I'm all for it, no matter where this ride ends - because, to me, we've already won the season by being where we're at.

No doubt Army will be in the HoF

I couldn’t possibly find a way to describe this season better than you did right here.

After how terrible the past two years were to watch, where we’re at right now has truly been a revelation. We’re entering a new era of really, really fun Blues hockey, and we’re not necessarily close to a finished product.
