If he could start scoring outside of just shooting from the slot- tips, backhands, rebounds he could be a 2nd line C but I don’t think he has that offense.

He’s like Mike Fisher, only thing stopping him from being an excellent 2nd line C is scoring but probably the best 3rd line C in the game

I don't see 2nd line C in Pinto at this time; the offensive skills are missing. However, he is young enough to possibly get there in the future.

Not sure if he is playing hurt. It seems like he has had more brain cramps than anything. He is playing the puck with no patience and it ends up in the other teams hands more often than not. He is struggling making the good tape to tape pass. Lack of confidence it seems.

Usually appreciate his game. He was the lousiest player on the ice against Colorado. Looked like he didn't belong. Has been middling since as I began to pay more attention. Lack of both stick discipline and visual scanning has led to unnecessary penalties and losing his positioning. Creates a bit of a feedback loop and his confidence seems lower. Who knows why he's in a rut.

Need him to play his game to have an advantage come playoff time. A special teams goal could go a long way - would like to see a shooter's mentality from here on in.

People who think he can be a first line centre are delusional. He's already 24 years old and close to a finished product..

He hasn’t even played 200 games, I don’t think he’s close to a finished product at all.

I don’t think he’ll ever be a true 1C but the idea that he won’t get better is a stretch.
He'll get a little better but right now he is an upper tier 3rd liner/lower tier 2nd liner. Best I can see him doing is a solid 2 way 2nd liner that maxes out at 60 -65 points. And that would be fine.

Depends on the team. He slots as a 3C here behind Cozens and Stutzle.. I think he could slot as a 2C when Norris was here. They were more interchangeable at 2C. Is his potential higher than 3C here. Possible but I would say not likely. If Norris was here it would be quite a bit more likely.

Whatever his potential, he has to score and elevate his game more if he wants a fat extension.

Big brain Staios move. Hey a solid healthy 2C like Cozens to keep push Pinto down the lineup which will keep his next contract aav down

Development isn't always linear, and he has missed a lot of hockey over the last few years due to injuries and then the suspension.

I don't know that he becomes a "1C" in the way people use that term where there aren't 32 players who meet that criteria in the league, but I think he will be one of those players who is a luxury to have in the second line center spot. Stutzle/Pinto/Cozens is a pretty ridiculous group.

Do you see any exceptional quality/qualities that can make him a # 1 centre? I don't. What I see is a very well rounded player who plays well at both ends of the ice. Not one aspect stands out but he is good at virtually all things.

He would have jumped into Sleke nominee if he could have scored on that breakaway he created against the Pens.

It seemed like a bad omen again to keep missing good opportunities and it was.

This team just can't score the way you would expect them to.
