Hope we get to see him on the ice.
I'm personally always in favor of giving the small guys a shot. Sometimes they're like Erixon and just can't handle the physicality (yes, I know, he's tall, but in the small player category IMO). And then sometimes they're like Jared Spurgeon.
I'd imagine hes gonna see at least a game with Tyutin and Golo out. Prout obviously will replace one but it's basically between Bodnarchuk and Falk isn't it?

So maybe Tyutin isn't too badly hurt? Recalling one still leaves us with 6 if Tyutin can't go.

Portzline mentioned on Twitter that they will go with 6 for Sunday's game and Tyutin will likely draw back in for NJ.

The LH-LD, RH-RD issue really is obvious with certain players and it definitely showed with Murray. I don't think it's so much a puck skills things, but a comfort back into the zone.
Connauton has played well on the other side so far, we'll see if that can continue. It shouldn't be a surprise because of all our d he has the best first step, probably the best top speed, has decent puck skills and has a little physicality in his game.
There's a good chance that since he's never really had alpha status that his coaches throughout the years have asked him to play more right side.
Our defense has improved under Torts. For me, it will be fascinating to see how Bodnarchuk reponsds

Prout is so bad
Ok. Goloubeff (i guess) is out about 1-2 months. Prout here nothing to do in NHL. Our D "status quo" is becoming urgent. Do we have normal D youngsters in Monsters? Paliotta? Yevenko? Heatherington?

No, not bad. I think TOP 3 ( Jack, Ryan, David) is pretty good, Connauton and Tyutin so-so, Cody now out indefinitely. But in the long run our TOP 3 will be anemic. If D youngsters are not ready we certainly need one TOP 4 D ( if we think about playoff)

I don't see the defense getting good until Werenski and Heatherington join Murray and Savard, which is a couple years away.

I said this once and I don't think it was well received. Our forwards are ready to compete now. Our defense? Closer to contending for the #1 overall pick in the 2016 NHL Draft.

They are paid like middle-pair d-men. $4.5m a year is average for middle pair D. Tyutin is not playing at a middle pair level anymore. JJ is not at a top pair level but he's not paid like it, and he's been fine since Torts took over.
ROFL, especially with Johnson @ slightly under 4.4 cap hit? He's a bargain.
This. Tyutin has been bad this season. Like almost Prout/Connauton last season bad. Don't get me wrong I like Tyuts and what he's done for us up to this season, but I think the D needs a reshape. Tyutin down needs reshaping, meaning Tyutin, Prout, Connauton(has been playing better but still eh) and Bodnarchuk either need to be buried in the AHL or traded/released. None of them are worth resigning.
I've been pleased with JJ and Connauton in the Torts era. They're not our top pair saviors but they're just fine for lesser roles. Tyutin has picked up his game as well, but at this point he's not going to be a reliable top four guy anymore. Bodnarchuk has played one NHL game in five years, so I don't know why people would judge him yet one way or the other.
This has us back to where we were for the last couple years. Lots and lots of middle pair and bottom pair possibilities, and a vacancy at the top. I see it something like this at the moment:
