I have no hate at all for Mo and Ed I love them both, but ASP will be better IMO

It's great that he's different than both of them as well, just another puzzle piece that will help us out.

Didnt know where to post this ...I heard friedman mention that the NHL is looking at more expansion bs (ffs) anyone know when it would happen??? Our roster is finally getting good and were gonna lose players we actually dont want to lose to one or 2 teams?ugh

Anyone remember the rules ??? 7 forwards 3 d 1 goalie?? Players in the AHL count ??? I'm hoping expansion happens in 2 years now all in one go so we dont have to use slots for the kids

I'm thinking copp should stick around as a 4th liner when the time comes to be a player we can expose. I'm more weary of giving assets now for a hague etc...

We might as well use a lombardi/mazur in a package deal for a cozens/mctavish since they'd be claimed anyways and protect the one that's left... cant see debrincat signing longterm so he might be a trade chip I predict

If the expansion draft is in 3 years will cause more problems with pellikka etc.. having to be protected

We might lose both buium and wallinder if theres 2 drafts ... deal one for jiri Fischer's kid and should give us a dman that wouldnt be exposed in the system that can play later on

i'm pretty sure that any player with an ntc/nmc must be protected

Idk, maybe that's just my point of view of all players involved, even Cozen's. I really don't value Trevor Zegras that much. I really ok not even making a move for him outside of what you said, moving around trash for some "perceived" upside trash.

I guess it is crazy, I wouldn't even give a 2nd round pick straight up so...

Guy I'd target for a smiliar package would be RHD Alec Martinez from Chicago.

Chances that ASP spends any time in the AHL is 0. You can't seriously think any Swedish player would chose to ride a bus in the AHL rather than play top minutes for a contender in the SHL. Sure, for someone like MBN who is bouncing in and out of the line up and not getting that much ice-time it might make sense, but no one in ASPs situation is gonna do it.

Just eat 50% off tarasenko and be done with him. Hes clearly not a fit , maybe a cash strapped cup contender like the oilers might think he can play better with them

Hes gonna be a headache next season with danielson,mazur etc.. challenging for spots

I'm kind of hoping we pull the trigger and run him as our 2C with Cat and Kane, or if that doesn't work all that well (can't imagine it would be worse than Copp) and move him up to Kaspers spot on the 1st and have him play with with his shot, and drop Kasper back into a C position.

23yo talented, big bodied, C's don't come around all that often and his price is pretty depressed at this point. But I think this is a situation where you could put together a Rasmussen, Wallinder + 1st to give them something new to work with

After seeing the improvements McLellan has made, I say the biggest and most obvious fix we can make at this point is finding an upgrade for Holl.
After that, a legit 2C would be nice and maybe a top 6 winger would be cool.

Yeah I can't imagine a player going from Sweden to the AHL. It's not like a third of our defense took exactly that path, one of them being a prospect of very similar pedigree to ASP. It's not like the vast majority of Swedish players that made our team over the last thirty years have played in the AHL. You're totally right. Swedish players have repeatedly shown that they will stay in Sweden until there's a spot on the big club's roster for them.

Why not use Kasper and Soderblom for Pk. I also like to see both players have shutdown role against top players. I like to see one of them play against Kucherov next game
