The Leafs need a culture change desperately. How can the culture be improved with Dubas still here? Or do we just have to wait his tenure out?

The bloated contracts, the buddy-buddy relationships, allowing Marner's camp to call the shots, not switching the PP up, keeping Thornton on PP1, not breaking Marner-Matthews up during the playoffs (put Marner on the 3rd line like Pittsburgh did with Kessel), etc. etc.

The culture is so rotten here. The blue and white disease is so bad.

So tell me, how can this culture be changed to a winning culture while Dubas is still here? It might very well be too late.

The coach makes the lineup and usage of said players and SK failed to adjust for the second playoff in a row. He needs to inject this team with VET's that have won and not guys that are career chokers.
Jumbo over Perry is a classic case of name over need. When the Marlies won they had soldiers that played the game differently than the guys in the top six and you had vets that wanted to win (goalie also played really well).
Jumbo/Simmonds shrunk when we needed them to step up.

The Leafs are currently without their first, third, fourth, and seventh-round draft picks in this weekend’s entry draft. In addition to possessing just three picks in 2021, the Leafs own just three in 2022 — their first, their second, and their seventh-round selections.
Having watched James van Riemsdyk, Tyler Bozak, Jake Gardiner, and Tyson Barrie leave the organization without a return as notable UFAs, the Leafs snagging an asset in return for Hyman before he walks out the door would be a more-than-welcome sight.

Few picks, huge overpayment on MM, a roster that gets shut down in the playoffs every year, #1 goalie leaving, big holes in the lineup to fill with very limited cap space, an abysmal PP, a coach who doesn't adapt in the playoffs....well done Kyle

IMO Matthews and Marner have to turn the culture around. Top 5 forwards all year and crumble in the playoffs. If your best players shrink against the slightest adversity you have no chance.

So that's my vote. Highest paid players in the league need to be difference makers when it counts.

Hope Matthews has a great summer hanging out with Beiber.

It won’t be because Dubas doesn’t have the guts to make the needed moves required to shake up a team with serious character issues, right down to its core.

I’m actually rooting for another bad leafs season - one more and maybe they’ll start trying to clean this mess up. The leafs are an example of how not to run a franchise.

Who said anything about the players letting the fans dictate? Having less reactionary hateful idiots would change the culture.
It would be better for the board if these nattering neighbobs of negativity devleloped some critical thinking skills, instead of their consent whining.

A change can begin with a simple move, a nudge.

A change, to be effective, shouldn't be a revolution, where you divide but never conquer the resistance. The resistance will always be there waiting for an opportunity.

I'm not sure who needs the nudge, is it Matthews or marner or can it come from the ranks?

Dubas isn't on the ice, but he can determine who is available to be on the ice.
Keefe can't determine who is available, but he can determine who gets the minutes, I think he can influence more than Dubas.
